Hi All,

my wife has a J1 and I applied for a EAD using I-765. I have received a notice of action with a request for evidence asking the following questions:

1. Submit a complete statement explaining why the J-1 principal is unable to fund the anticipated activities.

2. Provide a detailed statement regarding how the j-1 principal's exchange program is funded and provide the amount of money the principal receives per month. Also, submit a detailed monthly breakdown of costs including housing, subsistence, childcare, etc

3.Provide copies of bank statements upon entry in the US and any other documentation showing additional monies that are available to you.

Has anybody experience with this? (I noticed one person but no response, really). I understand that J-1 principal should be able o fund everyone in the family; however, I am not sure how to respond to question 1. I clearly mentioned in my cover letter for the application that the income will be purely used for cultural enrichment, recreation and entertainment.

Also, regarding expenses, if all the expenses come to the amount of monthly J-1 principal's income is a good thing or should there be any savings from it as well?

Thanks a lot for help in advance.

Hello!! I received the same notice of action!

That's the 4th time I apply for J2 work permit, and I never had any problems before. :(

I am confused about bank statements, did you provide any?

And also what kind of expenses should be paid by J1 and which expenses can be considered as additional activities?

Did you get the work permit? Can you please advice me what I should do in this case?

Thank you so much for any help

Anna
