Is my question 18 for the I-129f ok?

Would anyone be kind enough to take a look at this and tell me what you think? Too long, too short, right on the money?

Also, should I be more detailed about how we met or is that ok? I mean, we met in a bar...haha. I wasn't a fairy tale. I suppose that doesn't matter (it obviously shouldn't), seeing as we've been living together a year and are clearly a legitimate couple, but I just want to make sure I do this thing right so I'm not worrying the whole time.

"My fiancé, _________, and I were introduced and met in July of 2010 in Madrid while I was there studying Spanish at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. We began casually dating during my time in Madrid, but stayed in close contact after my return to the United States on August 7, 2010. Close contact soon became daily, hour-long conversations, and in December of 2010 we became a couple. After my college graduation in May of 2011, I came to visit ________ on May 12, 2011 for nearly a month (May 12-May 30). We felt such a strong connection, that I made the decision to move to Madrid and live with her. I arrived on July 24, 2011 and we have been happily living together for a year now (until my return on July 30, 2012). I’m very close with her mother and 3 sisters, who live in the same neighborhood in Madrid. We can’t wait to start our new life together as a married couple, and await your approval."

Thanks a lot! any input would be appreciated.

I would say it is more than sufficient. Our response was similar, it listed the different trips we made to visit each other and then a brief description on how we met and what are plans were for the future. The whole point of the question is just to make sure you have physically met within the past two years and yours does that. Just make sure you provide primary evidence showing that you have been together within the past two years.

Thanks jimmy,

Other than photos, what would be sufficient? I do have e-mail confirmations for my flights, but the physical boarding passes, I'm not sure. Luckily our photos are clearly from different times of the year, Christmas, different hairstyles etc. Just don't want any RFE's

I've asked this question before, but is it going to matter in the visa process that I have myself, overstayed my visa here in Spain? If not, I'll just do the photo copy of all the pages in my passport and they can see that I came to Madrid 3 separate occasions (also kill the birth certificate stone). I've been reassured that the US government won't care that I overstayed in Spain, but anyone know for sure?

Andrew, from what I've read here on the board, primary evidence can also be receipts (ATM withdrawals, credit card) that would have your name on them and the place. Obviously this would be in addition to your passport stamps, photos, etc. We also sent in the flight itineraries since I did not save the boarding passes.

As to USCIS not caring about your overstay, I've read the same things that you have so I really can't comment any further.

Good luck.

It's way too long. Here is what I'd send ( and similarly did send for our petition):

"My fiancé, _________, and I were introduced and met in July of 2010 in Madrid while I was there studying Spanish.

After my college graduation in May of 2011, I came to visit ________ on May 12, 2011 for nearly a month (May 12-May 30)."

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Too long. They don't need/want an entire relationship history. A couple sentences about how/where you met and when and that's it.

Ok great. Thanks for the advice.

Im kinda new here, should I make another thread about the overstaying of my visa in Spain or just continue here? Again, I was wondering if my overstaying on a visitors visa in Spain would somehow be looked at negatively in her visa process or if it doesn't matter. It would be easier to make the passport copy than get an official copy of my birth certificate, and it would add to the evidence of our relationship. I'm planning on sending it tomorrow so just want to ask all the question I have, obvious or not haha. Thanks

Thanks for helping me cut that down. You think I should leave out the living together part all together? I'd think that would be about as good thing possible is support of our relationship.

If I were you, my answer would be:

We met in July of 2010 in Madrid while I was there for school. We kept close contact when I returned to the United States in August of 2010. We made the decision to live together and I arrived in Madrid in July of 2011 and will be living together until July of 2012 when I return to the US.

Very simple.

Are you currently overstaying a visa in Spain?

Yes, I come back July 30. Was going to mail the package to my dad, have him drop in a money order (just thought it would be better to know it's in the states, and he can send it with USPS) and he'd mail it off for me. Which reminds me, on the part E, should I leave it blank or put N/A?
