Has anyone travelled with conection in Dulles airport?

Has anyone travelled with conection in Dulles airport? the question is do you know if I have to pick up my luggage and then check in back even if is the same airlines? I will have like 1 hour betwen flight, is it enough? I read that somethimes takes like 3 hours to pass the customs and I dunno what to do, Can I catch the next flight?

I have traveled through dulles, it really depends on the airlines policy. Sometimes i have gone right through without picking up my luggage. The only time I had to pick up my luggage and go through security and cutoms was when I used a different airline for my connection flight. Call them and ask! Good Luck

If you are arriving at IAD on an international flight you will have to go through immigration, collect your bags, go through customs and re-check them with the airline even you are connecting with the same airline. one hour will not do, or at best it will be tight, if you're traveling with a US passport.

If you are connecting from a domestic flight onto an international flight, then you will not need to recheck your bags; they'll be transferred to the other flight automatically and one hour should be more than enough. All you need do is find your debating gate and board.Call United and explain your situation so they can advise you on what to do, if anything at all.Good luck!
