i485 denied

My AOS has been denied, that's what my status online shows. They updated this on June 27, but I still haven't received a letter with the reason. I have no clue why it could be denied, our i130 has been approved tho.

Has it ever happened that they maybe hit the wrong button, instead it might be approved??

Yes I had the interview on June 22, it went well. She couldn't make a decision right then and there.

It has been 12 days since the online update, I would give them a call or make an infopass appointment and inquire as to why you have not received the notice in the mail.

Beyond that, I would also likely be making a few consultations with some AILA approved attorneys to see what the process of appeals/reconsider/re-open are as these are generally not DIY cases anymore.

Have you overstayed a visa? Is it possible you could be in removal proceedings?

For your interview were you told they needed more evidence or were you separated for the interview?

And for the I864, do you have a sponsor which makes enough money?

Not sure, I came in on a b1/b2 visa, in 2007 and got married in 2011, my lawyer told me that it shouldn't be a problem since I didn't enter the US with the intent to get married.

The i130 is approved so my husband makes enough to support me, we didn't get separated during our interview.

1) Intent alone is not enough to deny a case, there must be other factors.

2) The financial requirement has nothing to do with the I-130. The I-864 is connected to the I-485, however most people will receive an RFE long before their interview notice if their sponsor doesn't meet the requirements.

I think the denial has nothing to do with intent nor financial sponsorship and too be honest, nobody on VJ will be able to tell you *why* you were denied and very few will be able to assist those who are denied.

What does YOUR attorney say? Perhaps you may consider an actual immigration attorney (AILA approved), who specializes in MTR/MTRC cases. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have a free consultation with one.

Why did you come on a B2 if you are from a Visa Waiver country?

Has it happened? Possibly. The members of VJ are such a relatively small pool of experiences and thus no-one can say for sure, one way or the other. Perhaps a search of the forum may yield some responses-- but just remember, those responses are only the totality of this forum and not a response for everyone who has ever submitted an application.

Curious as to why 15 days? Seems an odd number, in more ways than one.

Online status says not to call before 15 days after the letter has been send out. It's kinda useless to call now because they'll make me call back in a few days.

Fair enough, the way you worded it made it sound like it was your attorney, not the USCIS telling you to call after that time period.

I guess all you can do is wait and consult your attorney to go over your options for an MTR/MTRC and prepare for that next stage. The hardcopy letter will tell you exactly why you was denied and what you have to overcome.

I do not know if VJ permits this-- but Immigrate2US.net has a much more extensive "support" network and more information regarding RPs/MTRs & MTRC-- I suggest that you take a look at what is being discussed there for your type of case.

What could you possibly have violated?

OP- when you get your letter it should have a denial reason, once you have that it will be easier to know how to proceed.
