You allege a marriage for immigration benefits and yet she has your baby? That leaves a funny taste in my mouth since a baby is typically not what a woman that marries solely for immigration benefits makes part of the equation.

hmmm... not really. I've read somewhere that some women planned this to the extent of getting pregnant because no matter where she runs away without her husband, she doesn't need him anymore since the baby is an american citizen and can make her legal anyway. BTW, these women always report of "spousal abuse" even if they weren't just to stay legal.

djcess,

One must be 21 years old to petition for their parent.

In what way are you thinking that a baby can make its mother "legal"?

When i started reading this post...My eyes were big and I couldn't believe what it was that I was reading but then as I kept reading and I read about the problems that pittman described about his wife...as far as being happy one minute and yelling the next moment. I knew right then that it was true. My good friend is married to a Mexican and she is the exact same way....even when it comes to money she is the same was as pittman wife. I mean we went to the movies the other day to see X-men 3 and we all had a goodtime and on our way out of the movie theater...she just flipped out and got super pissed off at him...while both me and him was just standing there puzzled because we couldn't believe what just happened. It was something I had never seen before. I mean I have been to there house and just watched how they act around each other. Most of the time she complains that he doesn't want to do anything but when he has her to do something (anything) she doesn't...she just wants to stay in the other room and watch tv....all day long. But when she goes to Texas to visit her family and do her Air Force Reserves Time.....she is happy. Sometimes she doesn't come back when she says that she will...she just stays for weeks at a time without consulting her husband first and causes alot of stress in the marriage. I even sat them down with each other and made them talk about there problems and get alot off there chest and made them express to each other what was on there minds and in there hearts. Well it didn't take long for me to see that.....I know it couldn't be me....I don't have the patience to deal with it, even though the doctor said that it is a depression thing. I believe that at some point people have to take responsibility for there actions...i mean you don't make it to be an adult in life by only your parents....you have to do most of the work yourself. But I fully understand what pittman is going through and i simpathize because my friend goes through the samething........I am not sure about the whole offering $2000 to marry you though...that one is above my level

What people must realize is that some people will do anything to get into America. Her having a baby do not mean that she came here with the intent on staying with her husband for life. In the eyes of Immigration however, it's a sign that she did come into America with good intentions on making the marriage work. That's what was told to me by an fraud investigation officer, so I tend to believe it.

I got pregnant within a week of my husband being in the country, I feel that my husband came here with intentions on getting a green card then getting away from his marriage, but these type people know that they must leave a trail of paperwork showing that they've had a hard time with their american spouse, and that takes to time to achieve.

I you have a moment take a look at the I-360, and what's required to file for it. BTW, both men or women can file for it. An I-360 is the forum you'd fill out when you feel that you've been abused by your american spouse. Some people use the list on their like they do when they follow the instructions on making a cake.

They know that they need police reports, witness's that can write a letter telling of the abuse they've witnessed, medical records if they can get them, etc. Anyhow some people set out to get all required paperwork for securing an I-360 at the USC expense, because they'd be calling you an abrusive spouse in order to secure their greencard.

My immigrant ex-wife wanted me to get her pregnant exactly a month after our marriage, which came to me as a big surprise, since during the year we dated before marrying, she never mentioned wanting to have a baby right afterwards in the first place.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I agree....it may be acceptable around friends but that is not what this site is for. It is not for you to insult people with foul langauge. Of course some people use it but it is all about the context that you use it in. That was uncalled for. I understand what your trying to say but there are other ways of putting it...so that you don't offend others.
