Does anyone think filing I130 thru Immigration lawyer speed up the process of approval

I am noticing this trend of I 130's getting approved faster which was filed by a immigration lawyer than an individual. Filed mid of Feb and i have seen some cases files the same date approved first week of April and others applied the same date haven't received anything back yet. Please share / Advice.

I'm not 100% sure of this but I think hiring a lawyer will insure all forms are filed correctly. If something is missing, then you have a delay. But it has been pointed out on this forum that it is possible to file yourself with the help of the guides here on the VJ website. I filed with a lawyer and we are still waiting for NOA2

13-Apr-2015 Biometrics completed
02-Feb-2016 Contacted USCIS about case, was told it's on hold because of security checks (email)
04-Mar-2016 Moved to Wisconsin
12-Aug-2016 New Biometrics appointment
14-Sep-2016 Contacted USCIS again about case (email said we should hear from them by Oct 6)
22-Sep-2016 Letter from USCIS dated 9/20 explaining the Service Request is currently being reviewed by an officer.
22-Sep-2016 Letter from USCIS dated 9/20 with Interview appointment for both of us for 28-Sep-2016
28-Sep-2016 Interview, both of us, separated, not hard, 10 min. each, result---said hubby will get GC in about 10 days
26-Oct-2016 *****STILL WAITING*****
02-Nov-2016 Card is being produced!!!
08-Nov-2016 Card is mailed
10-Nov-2016 Card is Delivered!!!! YAY
CITIZENSHIP: 

Biometrics appointment for 2020-03-27 has been cancelled until further notice as all field offices are closed because of COVID-19.

***NOA dated 12/10/2020 USCIS stated they are able to reuse previous Biometrics***

Interview was easy. My hubby's Oath Ceremony is scheduled for February 25th. I can't watch >sad< but happy he is getting his certificate!

no i don't think filed by a lawyer makes any difference when it comes to approval. My lawyer filed it I 130 for me in mid of feb. i got my approval notice today. it took 139 days, 4 and 1/2 months of waiting.

Lawyer does not do any thing to expedite the case except for take a dig at your pocket.

If you have a simple case (no BS in the case or no major red flags), then follow it through this website, read the guides and you will be fine.

If have extra money to give it to lawyers, please donate to charity... they can make a good use of it. :thumbs:

IMHO that's totally illogical assumption. USCIS goes case by cases based on petitioner/beneficiary's past records (previous marriage/relationship, felony, immigration frauds etc) so don't place everyone on the same boat if they filed around the same time.

VJ forum is 1000 times better than hiring lawyers and VJ will give you far more up-to date information than any lawyer could give.

Lawyers are waste of money for simple cases and nothing more than that for immigration process.

Do NOT and i repeat DO NOT pay for a lawyer to do it for you.

No it doesn't go through any quicker as you can see from my timeline. Also lawyers make mistakes too !!! unfortunately in my case they have !!!. Dont lin their pockets just do it yourselves.

We have a lawyer but we don't have a simple case. Nothing illegal, we just need a waiver and I am not very good at writing letters etc, so its worth it to us. We are paying a flat fee and at a discount. A lawyer does NOT move you through faster. You still have to wait, just like everyone else. We just wanted our paperwork done by someone with experience.... If you have a simple case, follow the guides here and save your money.

BTW, my PD is 4-12 and we are still waiting
