The guides and instruction forms from the USCIS specifically state that applications must be sent to Texas... Unless you mean that you're NOA1 stated it was sent to California?

From the USCIS website:

If you live in the United States or abroad and are filing Form I-129F, then file your petition at:

The USCIS Dallas Lockbox

For U.S. Postal Service:

USCIS

P.O. Box 660151

Dallas, TX 75266

For Express mail and courier deliveries:

Agree with GB55...do you mean your fiancé received a notice that the petition has been forwarded to the California Service Center?

Unfortunately, if your fiancé missed the part of the I-129F instructions on where it clearly states where to send the petition, I hope for your sake that he didn't miss any other crucial details on what to include with the petition that could further delay the process.

Part One: The K-1 Visa Journey:

USCIS Receipt of I-129F: January 24, 2012 | Petition Approval: June 15, 2012 (No RFEs)
Interview: October 24, 2012 - Review | Visa Delivered: October 31, 2012

Part Two: Entry and Adjusting Status:

POE: November 18, 2012 (at SFO) - Review
Wedding: December 1, 2012 | Social Security: New cards received on December 7, 2012.
AOS Package (I-485/I-765/I-131) NOA1: February 19, 2013 | Biometrics Appt.: March 18, 2013
AP/EAD Approved: April 29, 2013 | Card Received: May 6, 2013 | AOS Interview Appt.: May 16, 2013 - Approved Review Card Received: May 24, 2013

Part Three: Removal of Conditions:

Now the waiting game starts! Expect to wait about 5 months until your petition is adjudicated by the USCIS or you receive an RFE.

I suggest you read the guides on this forum http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide to familiarize yourself with the process. Once you receive your NOA1, fill in your timeline and VJ will give you an estimate of your adjudication date based on other VJ members' timelines.

Good luck!
