Hello everyone.

We have been lucky enough to be granted my husbands visa which must be used by Dec 5th. We had planned on moving in Sept but then found out we were pregnant. We cannot get insurance as my hubby is starting his own business and pregnancy is considered pe-existing. I will not qualify for Medicaid as we do have savings. We were going to pay for the birth out of pocket but I found out yesterday I am having twins! This changes everything as if things went wrong it would wipe out our life savings. Now we are looking to extend the visa for after the birth. Babies are due mid-Jan but will probably be induced around Christmas. Can we either go over for a couple of weeks and activate his visa to then return and have the babies in the UK? Looks like Feb or March to give us time to register them with the US embassy as citizens. Or will the embassy extend the validity date so we can stay another 6 months?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Both scenarios are possible. Typically embassies will extend visa validity for legit reason. This would certainly apply.

Do some thinking about what works best for you and the family. Then start down the chosen path.

No additional advice, but good luck and a healthy pregnancy to you! TWINS! Wow, exciting!

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

Thank you! Yes, the 1 in 3,000 chance landed flat on our doorstep! Very exciting but stressful.

My only fear is if he activates it then he will get flagged as he will then have to return for a wedding in June and another in sept. from what I've read, one long absents is tolerated but as soon as he does multiple trips sometimes they question him. This may answer my question. Guess I will contact the embassy.

Thanks again!
