Hello all,

My fiance has arrived a week and a half ago with her K1 visa in hand~

I've read the SSN guide, filled out the form, printed out the other form to take with me, waiting for at least 2 weeks, but I have questions...

While my fiance is here, she isn't going to be working. But we need the SSN for her to be on my bank account, and credit card, and mortgage, and various other marriage things and American life uses. Looking at all the guides and reading whatever I could find on the topic made me think that unless she plans to work, she won't get a SSN. I know it says that an I-94 holder is able to get one, but I thought only if they also apply for EAD to work.

What should I say, or do, to ensure we have a smooth SSN process when I go?

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks in advance~!

May the power of love be with you all! Unless you are a jedi, then may the force be with you.
