Hi guys,

I called last week to NVC for my DS-230 and was informed that there is a RFE for Marriage Certificate. Tried to explain that in India its not necessary to register or get marriage certificate(my parents got married in 1973). The one i submitted to NVC was a Marriage Affidavit, a registration at the district office in India, done by my parents last year and thats the most my parents can get. I guess the second NVC agent i called again did understood and I also mentioned that they have also listed on their website for Hindu regligion in India.. (http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9215), that they can register their marriages in a district office, thats what they did and they were issued a marriage affidavit with their names and year they got married, mother's name was changed and their joint marriage picture

I called today morning to nvc again and was informed that they are going to review again. it might take up 15 days

Meantime any idea guys what we can do here and anything i forgot to mention to NVC?
