My advice is to go ahead and send the e-mail!

Sent the email last Friday, filled out the DS-260 this morning! If you saved me a few days, you're my new hero.

Hey have you gotten your case complete yet?

Here's my update on my hubby's medical:

All that you need to take to the medical is your passport and appointment letter.

He's at one of the farthest hotels from the consulate (still only about a mile away). I'll let you know where he went once he gets home (you never know what creepers are reading on the internet).

I probably should have put him in the Quality Inn or something nicer, because he says it's kinda blah but definitely not bad. There's a pool he's gonna try, and they have free transportation to the consulate or anywhere close by. But he said that on the way home he walked instead of taking a taxi. Oh and there's free wireless in the rooms! :)The area is really fresa and nice.

And many of the CDJ experiences have said that but you should still be very careful when you're there.

The medical went well, he got 4 vaccines, the whole medical cost 5400 pesos. I'll tell more about it when I can!

It went well but it takes a long time because they make you wait to give you your number to "officially wait" with your number. (he sent me a message that he was at the consulate at 8:30.) Then x rays where you take off your shirt and they put you in a room and then they take you to another room to get blood drawn, and then you go to the eye exam and after that to another room with a doctor and they check everything (and you have to take all your clothes off). And then after all that they send you to another place to give vaccines and wait to see how you react to them, and after that if you don't feel bad they send you to pay.

My poor baby got 4 vaccines plus his blood drawn, but let's just say I'm glad it was him and not me because I absolutely hate needles and he's not afraid of them at all. And the doctors weren't exactly nice or mean but at least he asked the doctor to tell him what he had (he's been feeling sick lately) and luckily he didn't have an infection and the doctor could tell him to just take some tylenol and he'll be fine so I was glad about that!

the overall cost was 5400 pesos. He went back at 2 and I'm not sure what time he actually got the results but I'm guessing he got them fairly quickly, because by 5 he had already eaten and was hanging out. Anyway, that's our update! Can't wait until Friday!!!!!!!

Tomorrow the ASC appointment should be quick and easy.

Awesome, I get front seat play-by-play! I'm excited today because I found out my AOS was accepted, I can't imagine what you guys are feeling with him there already!

kicking.gif

I have read about some of the hotels offering free shuttle services to the clinics and consulate. With the proximity of everything has he taken advantage of it or is it not really worth bothering with? I'm also curious about the warnings that people try to pass themselves off as consulate officials to rip you off outside the gates. Any encounters so far with these ne'er-do-wells?

Thanks for the update, you don't know how comforting it is to be able to follow your process as it unfolds. We will be thinking of you guys this week, hoping all goes flawlessly!

Wow! That's amazing. I finally got my Interview date for November. Woooooo!!!

Can't wait to see my wife.

Please Please, let me know how long it take to get the VISA for you guys cause I'm planning on just picking it up there in Juarez instead of having my wife go back home. I've seen people say they've been able to pick it up after 2 busines days. So I'm just curious so I can plan right.

Hope everything works out fine for you guys.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

My hubby is picking up his visa in his hometown. Not my original plan but that's what we're planning on now.

But I also heard that it takes only a couple business days if you are picking it up in Juarez. :)
