Hi, I was wondering if anyone can let me know about this invitation letter that my fiance needs to take with him. Is it the letter from the american consulate general just generically saying that he can set up his asc appointment and consular interview?

Also, for the ASC stuff, is that something he can do at a consulate near where he lives, or only near the CDJ one, and for the medical exam does he also need to set up an appointment.

I guess, hmmmm, what else am i unsure about...lol.

Also, if we filled out the DS-260 as it said, then we don't need to fill out the DS-160, right? I know some questions might seem pretty obvious, the answers, but we really are trying to get everything taken care of so as to not have any problems if it can be helped :)

Also, for anything that needs to be paid , appointments or whatever, does it matter if its pesos or dollars?

Thanks!!

Yes. It is the letter from the consulate in Juarez with the links to the forms and website for scheduling your appointments.

Also, for the ASC stuff, is that something he can do at a consulate near where he lives, or only near the CDJ one, and for the medical exam does he also need to set up an appointment.

As far as I know you can get the ASC appointment scheduled and done in your own city before going to Juarez. When they first started doing it like this by appointments, there was some mention of it taking awhile for Juarez to receive the results from other cities so most just scheduled it while there in Juarez already. You do not make an appointment for the medical. Just for the interview and fingerprinting. For the medical, you need to show up really early at one of the clinics there near the consulate and wait in line.

I guess, hmmmm, what else am i unsure about...lol.

You do not fill out the DS-160, just the DS-260 and the other forms that are required for the interview.

You can pay online or in person at any Banamex or Scotia Bank in Juarez. I honestly do not know if it has to be in one or the other, pesos or US dollars. Maybe someone else that paid in person might come along and know that answer.

Thanks!!
