Hello

ok i got this in the mail yeasterday I797C and our appt for biometrics is july 18 2012

what happens after this appt????

also my oldest son (canadian citizen) here (usa)on CR2 who is 18 now wants to go back and only live in Canada, what happens now and what should i do?

is there a way to keep is green card valid or should i just let it go for him, as he is saying he is never returning to live in USA, he is CANADIAN and that is where is heart is... but wants to be able to come here to visit family when ever he wants, but wants to live in Canada and have SIN# and manitoba health and education thru Canada not sure if he needs to go to Biometrics appt?? as he is currently in Canada he has decided this after i submitted the removal on our 2 year card,

HELP PLEASE!!!

All you do after the appointment is wait. There is nothing more to do at this point. If they need more information from you, they will send you an RFE, or call you for an interview which is very rare. But don't expect anything for about 5-6 months.

As for your son, I am not sure how he would maintain his residency. I know others have done this in the past, but I'm not sure how it would work. If he is 100% sure he does not want to live in the US ever again, you could cancel his application. However, he would need to leave the US the day his GC expires, the extension letter would no longer be valid. If he is in Canada and wants to stay, no problems there. He would still be able to come and visit you like any other Canadian can enter the US as a visitor, no more then 6 months at a time.
