When filing N-400 based on marriage, are you required to provide this info for the past 3 or 5 years? Some people say 3, so just making sure. I would probably go all the way back to the year of my birth.

I just put in for 3 years since if I put in for five I would have been listing jobs and places I lived in my home country!

I have my interview tomorrow - I'll let you know if it was a problem.

Well, me too would be listing jobs and addresses abroad. I'm gonna list 5 and let them ignore 2 if they want to.

Good luck and let us know eeeverything about it! :)

Well I am now a United States citizen. The fact I had only mentioned employment/address/trip history for the past three years wasn't even mentioned in the interview. I did include a brief letter in my original application stating that I only included the past three years as I am applying based on being continuously married to a US citizen for the past three years.

Good luck to everyone!

If you are applying based on 3 years, then you put the past 3 years... otherwise 5 years. The instructions are not accurate so they generalize to 5 years. I've applied based on 3 years and I know many people who applied based on 3 years, and we entered information for the 3 years only.
