We are only a month or so into our journey and have a ways to go along with many hurdles to overcome. But as combursome as this process is, there is a reason for it and honestly, I have no problem with the forms, the processes, the requirements for the K-1. These are in place to prevent the unethical from flodding this country. We are (or where) a nation of laws and as such we should follow the process and do it right. Circumventing it because you are frustrated is not the correct option. Follow the rules, have patience and things will work out. Don't and they won't.

I don't think people examine the comparisons of K1 vs CR1 prior to filing. Some opt for K1 thinking they will get that person here with them sooner and it's not necessarily the case. In the end, "sooner" means more money in the US government's purse, having to wait to adjust, and a longer time for getting into the workforce.

Sometimes i wonder if some follow vj members are immigration agents. i did not campaign for people to abuse the immigration benefit but they tend to miss interpret my post and not deal with the technicallity just like you see it "OLOMO_811" what is this trend for if we cannot ask question on certain immigration rules. Atleast Olomi_811 see what i mean. Some people here are just acting mr and mrs. nice guy, i guess they are the one so desperate. I still maintain my position that K1 should be given preference in terms of short time application processing, if you disagree with me then how would you explain the justification of your initial fiancee pertition. Your answer is that they are examining the national security involve if they are allow live in the country, then i will say those adjusting from b2, b1, or f1 should go back to there respective countries and submitt the same application and be examined for national security just the k1 has been examined.

I have read lot of post on Adjustment of status from K1, student, and others. i came to conclusion that K1 is the worse means right now to bring your love one to the United States. Then i asked myself that those of us that came here or bring our love one via K1, what do we have to gain after having to wait for a pertition to be approved after five month, then send down to the NVC and then forward down to the embassy? Atleast my process took about 9 months and im sure others who are subjected to Administrative review spend beyond that if im not wrong. We paid much more for visa fees, medical examination and waiting time.

At the end we are here and its another long waiting process compare to other applicants adjusting via students and other means. All we get is our application being transferred to califonia in the name of speedy process though some of us still get transfer to local service centre but correct me if im wrong atleast 90 perc of us get transfer to califonia. When i received notification that my application was transfer to Califonia after reading other people stories here, i was unhappy.

Does is make sense now to get your love one come to live with you in the United States via the so called K1 or get them to apply for visiting visa and then adjust status to Permanent residence from there, atleast you wont have to wait so long since your application is most likely to pass through the normal process.

I put up this thread because it does not make sense to me no more to get your love here via K1. If you have more imput to this pls let us talk about it.

In this journey many complications came our way; some which many were doubtful could be overcome. One institution contacted that assist person in immigration process provided bad advice which didn't follow knowing and understanding the law and wanting to do things correctly. The representative advised that apply for a visiting visa and later adjust. Explained that in which they should have known that I would file for the purpose intended, K1. Even though doing things correctly seems like a trial and frustrating; with persistance and determination and true love in the balance it is all possible. I prayed constantly for direction and thankful after a long courtship me and my fiance are together. We learned the true meaning of patience which think will be of value in our marriage. Please if you want you and your love to be together it seems K1 or CR1 would be the way for you to go. If your goal is to be with your love then use the best tools that can help you "put together" that dream. The best to you.

I am not really sure anymore what exactly it is you are complaining about, nor do I understand calling the other members here 'too nice', 'possible immigration officers' or 'desperate'. We knew the differences between the K-1 and CR-1 before we chose the K-1. We researched for many months before we ever sent in anything to the USCIS. The K-1/AOS route costs more than the CR-1 route, but we did not choose based on cost per visa. Everyone should make the choice that is right for them. There is no one answer, or one way for all.

Background checks are part of the process for everyone, and I am glad. Those adjusting status from a K-1 do not always have an interview. In fact, many of those adjusting from a K-1 do not have an interview for the green card. This is because they already had an interview at the consulate in their country before being granted the K-1. Those adjusting from all the other visas you named must file an I-130 petition along with their I-485 for adjustment of status. They get background checks done, and they all must have an interview.

If you are so upset about coming here on a K-1 and it not being timely enough for you, then why did you choose to come here on the K-1? Why not the CR-1 so you would not have had to adjust status? As Olomi_811 said, it is cheaper and you would have had permanent resident status already upon entering the US.

I just read yet another thread of someone who brought a spouse here, who left, or is leaving after less than 6 months of marriage, and then come to THIS when where you are suggesting FRAUD. You're worried the wait is too long? Then you must not really love the one you're bringing in.

I see thread after thread of people whining that they can't afford the fees, or they only make $11k, and why have a co sponsor. I read a thread of a person who was AFRAID to tell his family about his spouse...his WIFE!!

This is your LOVED one. A wait is something difficult but bearable. How much of a loving relationship can you have if you don't have a job making above poverty level and STILL selfishly want your LOVED one here? How much of a loving relationship can it be if you are afraid to tell your family or you're not willing to give up 6-9 months for what should arguably be a LIFETIME commitment?

I am sorry you misunderstand the process and think that people who are here on another visa already and adjust don't go through security checks. That's just silliness.

Your positions are all over the place, and you lack the maturity to have a conversation without calling people names. If you don't want to hear people's opinions on whatever point you are trying to make then what was the point on posting on a forum? Also if more than one person is misunderstanding what you are trying to say in this forum, then you should consider that you are not making sense and it is not their fault. It has nothing to do with desperation or being "Mr. Nice Guy"
