Voided Passport Stamps

Hi! Here to ask another detailed-oriented question. I have color scans of every page of my fiance's passport and I'm actually starting to two-hole punch everything and fasten this packet together. The thing about my fiance's passport is that he's got two stamps in there from when he tried to visit me in December 2010 that were crossed out and voided by U.S. security at Dublin Airport. See, he tried leaving on December 21 and 23, 2010 - two days during which Dublin was hit by a strong snowstorm that grounded pretty much all flights in and out of the city just before Christmas. My fiance went through U.S. customs and security in Terminal 2 the first time before the flight got cancelled and he had to go home; this happened a second time two days later when he cleared U.S. customs once again and was actually on the plane on the runway for an hour when the flight got cancelled and he had to go home again. He finally got a flight out on his third try on December 28th.

My question is, should I add a note or something to that page to explain why one stamp has an X over it and the second one says, "VOID"? I'm concerned anyone reviewing his passport will think he was denied entry to the U.S. by airport customs when really he just went through customs in Dublin and had his stamps crossed out because his flights were cancelled.

Thanks for any help!

I think you should feel free to annotate the pages. I had something similiar in that the boarding pass date didn't match the stamp date for one of my trips because my flight was cancelled but we used the same old boarding passes to board the next day. I put a note explaining this at bottom of the page. They could check the flight records for these things if they reallllly wanted to anyway.

Good luck!

When you are denied entry I don't believe they stamp your passport. They will see two stamps in close succession but probably no re-entry stamps. You certainly could put a note on the copy. There should be no record of entry denial for him in USCIS/CBP database so I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks very much for your replies, kittylondon and Operator! I've written a note on a Post-It and stuck it to that particular page with the voided stamps. I didn't know they could check a record with Customs and Border Control if they were suspicious.

Thanks again :).
