Amy called the Vancouver consulate yesterday to see if they had received our case from NVC. They have. which is good, but when she asked when they would send out the packet 3 he said in "a couple weeks". That's pretty vague. It's so close that I just want to be done with it and have Amy move here.

They probably just say that ... They got my packet 3 out fairly quickly (within a week) and once you email back your checklist they give you an appointment date very quickly ... The interview date they give you is typically about 4 weeks from the date you send in your checklist ...

If your fiancee doesn't have her medical completed yet or her vaccination, you can get them done now ... You don't necessarily need your packet 3 first to do them as long as you know you will be getting it soon ...

It took just over 2 weeks between NVC sending it off to Vancouver, for me to actually receive Pkt. 3. I mailed all the forms and lists back immediately (Monday) and am waiting for an interview now. I requested it for the last week of November. I am betting that Amy can get it sooner if it is a 4 week wait!

04/13/06 - I-129F mailed

04/18/06 - NOA1

08/30/06 - NOA2

09/26/06 - received at NVC

09/27/06 - forwarded to consulate

20/11/06 - visa in my pocket!

14/01/07 - POE

13/04/07 - marriage

27/04/07 docs sent in for AOS, EAD, AP

26/06/07 - biometrics appointment

02/17/07 - AP and EAD arrive

03/03/08 - Infopass - where the heck is my AOS interview?? No one knows!

Thanks guys... I just got an email from Vancouver - a reply from message I sent last week. Amy has a new mailing address and I wanted to be sure they had it on file. Well, they updated the address and sent out packet 3 yestderday! Funny that they didn't mention that to Amy yesterday when she was on the phone with them. I guess it doesn't matter because things are now on their way!

I sent them an email requesting an interview the day or two after the medical, and they kindly granted it. You might want to think about trying that too. :)
