NVC Question

Hello,

My I-130 case was approved at CSC on March 30, 2012. Then I received and paid the I-864 bill from NVC and submitted the Affidavit support documents in April 2012. Then I received IV bill from NVC and paid in May 2012. After that, I received a letter asking for supporting documents like passport copy of my spouse, original copies of his birth certificate, marriage certificate, photos, and police certificate.

My husband's passport expires in September so he applied for renewal in May. Unfortunately, he still hasn't received it yet. It is getting delayed. He still has to get the police clearance certificate once he gets the new passport. It looks like it will take at least 2 months to get everything we need to submit to NVC.

My question is how long do I have to submit these documents to NVC? Do they decline the application if I don't submit the supporting documents within few months? Please advise.

Thanks.

You have ONE YEAR from the last communication with NVC before they'll close your case. So, if you submitted stuff in May, then you have until May 2013 before they close your case.
