Hi All! :help: I heard about a couple who got married in the USA when the fiance came to visit him. They filled the paper work and she left the USA. Took roughly 2-4 months to get U.S residency.

1) Is it possible to do this when the fiance has a tourist visa ?

2) How is it possible to get the paper work done so quick? (the fiance is from south east Asia - India or Sri Lanka )

Sometimes the paperwork is just that quick. Having a tourist visa doesn't impact your case at all. As you posted, the fiance LEFT the US and did not stay.

I 'hear' a lot of things about US immigration, a lot of is it B.S.

Good luck

Don't believe everything you hear. There will always be people who tell tales of this one lawyer who got things done in 4 weeks. Most of the time it's not true.

Some times it might be true. If that's the case, they likely qualified for an expedite.

Thanks mate! Yup from what i know she filled for it and left to Canada to visit some family ( as she didnt think she had to fly back to Asia ) By the time she wasted some time she was able to head back to the states legally with new paperwork. Thanks for letting me know that having a tourist visa does not have any impact, im trying to find the fastest way of getting my visa done.
