G-325A: Last address outside the United States of more than one year

Hi everyone. I just have a quick question about the G-325A for my spouse (Chinese citizen) and I. We are currently living in Shanghai, China and will be applying through the consulate here for her CR1. I plan to submit the I-130 and supporting documents soon, and I have a question about the G-325A for her and me. We have been living in our current apartment here in Shanghai for more than one year. In the section of the G-325A where it asks for our address, this is easy to fill in, as the boxes under "Month" and "Year" on that line are merged together and it says "Present Time." However, in the section below where it asks for last address outside the United States of more than one year, I'm not sure what to put. Should I fill out the rest of the address, and put down "Present Time" by writing in "Present" under "Month" and "Time" under "Year?" I will have to handwrite these words in, as the fillable form only allows numbers in these spaces (the rest of the form is typed). Or should I simply put "See above" in the box labelled "Street and Number" and leave the rest of the boxes on the line blank?

I know this is kind of a silly question, but both my wife and I are paranoid that something will go wrong and delay our application.

Thanks a lot for your help, everyone!

Fill in the line and put the beginning date, but for the ending date leave blank because the PDF form will only accept a numeric value only. When you print the form out you can then write in the ending date "Present"

Do not put 'see above'. The question is asking for an address. It doesn't say 'only complete if not already answered above'.

You can either do as YuAndDan suggested and handwrite 'present', or you can use the downloadable form from visapro.com where you will be able to type in 'present'. The G-325A in the 'example forms' section found in the tabs at the top of this page, uses the fillable from from visapro. They are generally kept up to date in accordance with the USCIS website.

Like Dan said, it's OK to mix typing and handwriting on the form.

Don't be nervous. :)

That form especially is not all that crucial. Any errors can be corrected at the interview.

Hello,

Just put your current address at the top and leave the columns blank where it says that "address abroad for more than a year outside the US"

Why would you leave a question blank that can be answered?

Hello,

No, it should not be blank when the OP has been living in China for more than a year. He needs to write down that address and from/to timeline.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Hi everyone. Thanks for all of your replies. I finally submitted my forms last week. Then my wife took her GRE, and her preparations took up all of our time; hence my very late reply to all of you. Anyway, I ended up going for the mixture of handwriting and typing: I wrote "Present time" in the space where the date was supposed to go. Sounds like it should work alright. Thanks again everyone!
