AOS and IV Bills recieved at the same time

Hello guys,

I am very sorry for being absent for 2 days. My Birthday was yesterday and i got the best birthday present - my wife flew into town from Maryland. So I was at the airport to pick her on the 4th and we had loads of catching up to do. Yesterday we were out all day and later topped the day with a wonderful dinner at a lovely indian restaurant in Northwest London. It was beautiful.

Now back to my status, while i was absent, i got an email from NVC, addressed to my lawyer, my wife and myself (email). In the letter was a requirement to pay the IV and AOS bills . 88 and 230dollars. I thought thAT one was meant to come after the other one? (

I will like to ask the experienced VJ members if in a sitaution where we already have a lawyer, do we ask him to pay the bills on our behalf or we have to do it ourselves. We plan calling him today, but wanted to find out before calling him.

Second question is what forms are we required to fill out, since we will be using the services of a lawyer. I know that we dont need to send out the DS 230. The process might get a bit slow here, since my wife is here on holiday with me. We will pay the relevant bills while she is here, but i guess the AOS package will be sent out when she gets back home. For my IV package, i am still expecting the police report from Nigeria. I hope it arrives soon, every other document, including my UK police report are ready.

I know that we dont need to send out the DS 230.

Incorrect, the DS-230 is the immigrant visa application form that you will need to fill out and submit along with the necessary documentation.

It's the DS-3032 that you will not need to fill out.

February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
