So can someone please tell me why when I called USCIS today, seeing that my 5mths is Saturday am told oh you're 16 days away from your date being current because Vermont is working on Jan 23rd..

Utter nonesense because that have been saying that for the last two months. and oh I wouldn't be able to file a service request because they haven't passed my date?

Oh come Monday, I am using every available channel to get something done because this is ridiculous to play God with people's lives and marriages.

They aren't playing God and they aren't trying to ruin your life

USCIS is swamped, they receive tens of thousands of pieces of mail a day and I hoestly believe they are doing their best.

I understand your pain, we waited 178 days and I counted each and every day our petition was at USCIS

Part of loving someone who is outside of the US is this waiting, but there is an end to this journey and it is wonderful!

Good luck

I don't believe they are playing God or running behind intentionally, they seem to be overwhelmed. I feel for you, but I believe they are doing the best they can with the resources the are given. I'm sure they aren't happy with the case load either. My husband finally has his interview in 11 days, and although the wait has been long and difficult. I know in the once he is here the long wait and frustration will soon be forgotten and well worth it. Good luck!!!!

The U S govt didnt decide who you should or would marry nor where they would come from. You did all of that and now have to go thru the difficult process of them being granted a visa to enter the country you live in. You can avoid all of that by moving to Ghana for example. Ghana is a country that can take even longer than others when it comes to visas.

You will soon find that those channels you are looking into are clogged with the refuse of other cases as well.

My own case took 408 days so like many here we have been on the journey ourselves. Its very difficult but you can get thru this just as we did.

No worries, the great thing about VJ is that you can vent and we can support you. Our journey took 10 months from start to finish. However I was lucky, I was in just before Montreal started taking 6 months to book an interview - people spent more time waiting for their interviews than at USCIS and NVC combined

Good luck

Good luck

you can't vent here on VJ. even if you make a little joke, VJ's moderators are fast to delete.

when people mention God and I question this (venting) VJ is fast to ban me from the thread or will delete my post!

even this post has a chance of being deleted or something. VJ is NOT a good place to vent.
