Our petition was reaffirmed after we received a NOIR. The case went through NVC very quickly and is back at the embassy now waiting for an interview date to be scheduled. I don't know what to expect either. I know he will need a new medical and police certificate but I don't know what else they will ask for. I am getting a new affidavit of support ready in case they ask for that.

We were in AP for 15 months before our visa was denied. The embassy did 2 interviews and a field investigation during that time.

I don't know how the embassy will contact him to schedule the interview. It would be great if someone can tell me.

Do they have his email address? You may have to call daily to check on the status of your petition, or email them. Please don't wait for their response as even technology isn't fail proof! And were there any clues given at the denied interview? Any comments the CO may have said can be helpful for building your case. I only had the two to go off of, 1)The CO didn't believe my husband loves me and 2)The CO felt he entered into the relationship for immigration purposes only. I also know of some of the "red flags" we carry, so I am gathering evidence to debunk it. This is what my husband will take to his interview. The rest will be on him to answer confidently and accurately, even if it's an "I don't know" or "I don't remember".

Wishing you success! And remember, take your case in your hands and find out any info you can by calling or emailing them!

Okay, it's been 15 business days since my notification..I called NVC twice today. This morning I was asked to scan a copy of our re-approval letter to their research team, then I called back this evening just to see. I was told I had to wait for the research team to contact me by email. So I asked what happens now? And she told me that for re-approvals, it takes longer for them to get to NVC due to something at the USCIS. She couldn't tell me as she doesn't work at USCIS, cause yes I did ask, lol. Just that from experience, she knows it takes longer for NVC to receive them back.

Yet on the flip side I am confused, because USCIS already told me it had been sent to DOS and DOS told me it had already been sent to NVC. Oh where, oh where has our petition gone, oh where, oh where can it be??? (singing this to oh where, oh where has my little dog gone, oh where, oh where can he be?)lol

Man if you cannot laugh through this process you'll go insane!

I also went through a short period of time where I didn't know where our petition was. USCIS was saying they sent it to NVC. NVC was saying they didn't have it. I just kept calling NVC and finally they said they had sent it to the embassy. I called DOS after 2 weeks and they said the embassy had it and it was under review.

I talked with DOS very early on and two different times with two different answer, *sigh. One was that our petition had been mailed to NVC, and the other was it had been forwarded to Lagos and we are in AP. So maybe I should also make another call to DOS, or give it a day to hear back from my email to the Consulate. I dont like sitting and not knowing where our petition is....

And I get conflicting stories, which irritates me as well, does it have to go through NVC or not? Because I have heard it both ways now. Seriously, these agencies need to stick to protocol so there aren't people worrying that our petitions are MIA! Smh

Got emails from NVC research team and the Lagos Consulate, neither has it. So I gonna pull back on the phone calls for now, else I could become obsessed with this, lol. It is simply a matter of time. :). When I hear something I will update.

Reapproved/reaffirmed petitions travel by themselves, they are not mixed in with anybody else's petitions. Thats what I found out about how they travel.

NVC received second NOA2 at 28 days. It is being forwarded to Lagos. Now onto this wait.

It's been a month sense our petition has been back at the embassy. I contacted my congressman's office today asking them to email the embassy and try to get them to schedule our interview. The waiting is hard. We just want to get the interview over with as soon as possible so we can be together.

Kathy I'm glad everything is alright with your petition and it's on it's way to the embassy.

I hope so. The thing about a reaffirmed petition is all the added expenses. He has to have another medical and the travel expenses for that. I have to ship documents to him and then the embassy is 5 hours from his home. For our NOIR we used a lawyer so we are looking at about $1000 total expenses. Thank God we don't have to pay the visa fee again.

The other day I told my son I was feeling kinda depressed. He reminded me of the emotional and financial toll trying to get the visa has taken on me. I've been on my visa journey for 3 years and sometimes I forget how much stress I'm under.

Keep your faith! This journey is not for the faint of heart! It is trial after trial and test after test. Stay strong, eventually this part will be over and we can move to the next phase! Which will also be a lot of work, lol....adjustment time :). I am settling in for a wait for the interview date as I understand Lagos is a bit behind, and I fully trust God to do whats best for my husband and I. Whether it be next week, next month or after that. I must accept His will over my needs and wants.

Keep smiling, keep encouraging and keep going! Hugs

You are lucky that your service center is Vermont, California puts them in storage and lets the returned K1 petitions

expire.

Please clarify who "they" is, who send you a letter?

It sounds like VSC reaffirmed you and forwarded the case to NVC where it is being reviewed. Have you called DOS and asked what your status is ? Have you contacted the embassy if they received your case ? Whenever you call USCIS ask to speak to

a tier 2 immigration officer, not a contracted customer service greenhorn reading from a script.

Are you the petitioner or beneficiary ? Is the beneficiary German or from another country on a residence permit ?

Spoiler
