The service request goes through the national customer service center to wherever your application is at, (mine is at vermont) then they have to update you within 15 days, but sadly, an update doesn't always mean approval as you see with my case.Once they "update you" they or may not send you the same email i got pr you could be just approved right away. My case is clear cut and dry, pretty easy, so i am guessing something went wrong somewhere, just do not know. You are right though at least i know......i hope, because you never really know with immigration.

So when a service request is submitted, does that guarantee that they will review the application within the 60 days? If so it's better than nothing I suppose...mine was sent June 28th. :(

How long did you wait between the service request & their response? My processing is at CSC & it's been a week so far & no updates.

My I-130 was filed before yours...maybe they didn't get to the January filers yet? Even though some people who filed after us got approved. Let's just hope for the best, what else can we do?

i mean i called and requested a service request, that's why i got one, you can do the same, but sometimes they don't let know and reasons vary.
