ok so from looking at everyone's timelines it seems to me that even if my husband's case at NVC is completed at the middle or end of this month they wont give him an interview date for august. it seems to me he wouldnt get one until september 20somethin which is very much too late for me because we are expecting our first child in the first week of october :( so would i be able to request a earlier interview date somehow after they assign one to him? and do they always do the interviews so far apart?

They only thing you can do is try to contact the consulate once your case has been forwarded to ask them. Good luck

You're in the same position as me and my wife, she is expecting, mostly not until December/January. However, I'm still optimistic about an August interview, though we are still waiting for confirmation from NVC that the package I sent was received. We've been at the NVC stage for almost two months, so it would be great if it works out for August. I hope the same for you and your husband.

I have been looking at other timelines for specifically Jamaica it seems like once case says complete at NVC the interviews are scheduled at least six weeks afterwards.

Thanks, I know we can both relate here. :). AP means administrative processing. Sometimes after someone is approved they are not immediately issued a visa. Their case goes into AP. From what I've read here, this can be for weeks or months, and in rare cases, even years. It's where they conduct further background checks and so forth. Hopefully neither of us will have to go through that.

Ugh, it is rare if anyone from Jamaica get put in AP. If they are put in AP, it's usually for a couple f weeks.

1. when you'll get your interview date, you can try to request an earlier date, but since you are the one pregnant(USC) they probably won't honor your request.

2. Interview dates are usually 2 months after approval at NVC.

3. babies comes when they are ready, saying that if he has an mid sept date for Interview, he could be in the states by the end of Sept.

I was able to change my interview for an earlier date because there was one available, it had nothing to do with my circumstances and I was never asked why I wanted to change it. After your date is assigned and your file has arrived at the consulate contact them to request an earlier date, hopefully one will be available. Good luck.
