I hope this time it would work out. You have written a very heartfelt letter. Now, it's time to ACT-- show her that you really mean it -- Good luck and God bless to both of you ! :) Glad that you made some realizations :) Don't give up !

6060842s, good luck. I hope you two can repair things and get your marriage back. I can see you trying and I can see you really care. My wife and I have had some hard times building our married relationship, it is work learning to adjust to each other. You've got two different people and two different cultures mixing. Add in homesickness and it can be tough at times. I honestly believe because of the homesickness part, the petitioner has to be extra careful and patient to help the immigrant work into the American system. You really can't forget that for a minute, but of course we all will sometimes. We're only humane after all. I hope if you get a chance again, you can really stay focused on her needs and are able to put your own aside as much as possible while she adjusts.

Too many people try to do this thing on a shoestring budget. It takes some resources to do this properly. Also, it takes time. You have to have some free time to help your partner take care of the things that need to be done. If you don't make much money and are working 6-7 days a week and still supporting 2 or more school age children from a previous marriage this process (or whatever better word you chose) is going to be extremely difficult...

Hey 6060842s:

I remember reading your story when I was going through a similar (but perhaps not as severe) situation with my foreign wife.

Her K1 visa had expired and she didn't want to adjust she just wanted to leave. Now that things have completely broken down with her and we

aren't even in contact, I have to look into divorce proceedings.

Did your wife ever try to get money from you once she left? Your input would realy help me out, thanks..

Thank you for letting me know that,,,,,I guess that I won't be getting his perspective then....any idea how things worked out for him?

Thanks,,

No idea. Divorce follows local laws, so whatever you face is going to depend on your state and county. You an get excellent advice from someone on divorce, but if you're not in the same state, and sometimes the same county, it can be totally wrong. Generally when a spouse leaves the marriage, with no known location, after so much time, they can be declared to have abandoned the marriage and its a simple process. Heck there was a guy I think from Ohio that got declared dead after so many years. He came back and discovered he can't get any benefits for things like SS because he's legally dead, and there's no way he can be declared alive again. Of course he still needs to pay his taxes though as he's a USC, and even a dead USC has to pay his taxes rofl.gif
