Hi all! About to pass the 5 month mark and need a little bit of information:

1) A phone number that will connect me with a real human being at USCIS.

2) What information will I need to have handy when I ask to make a service request?

3) Has anyone asked for a service request with VSC on a K-1 lately? How did it go?

Thanks for any help you can offer! Hoping they'll shock me with an NOA2 notification before Friday, but the way things are looking at VSC, I'm not going to hold my breath! :)

Join the club in the case status update forum, January Filers. Word on the street is they don't want to talk to you until after 6 month wait. According to USCIS, they are currently processing Jan 9th.

They will likely tell you to Wait another 30 days before putting in a service request. 5 months is the "processing timeframe".

About the time you are ready to call your congressman you will get a text message stating that they approved your petition and sent to NVC.

Hang in there, someday the two of you will look back on this wait time and it won't seem so long.

The waiting is awful, but you will make it, ditto to O's comment.

Yeah, the NAO2 waiting is bad enough. But lately it seems like there is also a hold-up at the NVC, now. It appears that a month or more to get through there is about normal now...

Thanks for the info all. Figured it would come down to more waiting. Go figure! At least calling will be something, rather than the 5 months of nothing I've done lately!

Hi,

Thanks for asking those questions. We're working with nearly identical timelines & the same Service Center.

Welcome to the forum and to the "party."

All of us have either been where you are, or are on a similar path. I agree with the comments of Operator and bigdog. This whole immigration marathon is a series of hurry-up and wait scenarios. What keeps my fiancee and myself going is the end result of this whole protracted process, anything worthwhile takes time and patience.

Good luck on your visa journey.
