There was a blog I used to read years ago where they came up with something they called the Syriana Test--if you watched it with someone who could follow along and understood the context of the movie's plot points, then they had a good understanding of the basics re. the area, its people, and some of the issues there. If they were hopelessly lost and clueless re. those things, then they were a hapless n00b.

There are several movies and TV shows that I'll ask people about and when they say things like, "Oh that show's stupid." Or, "That was the stupidest movie I've ever seen." Then I know they're idiots and I don't have to waste my time on them. They immediately go into the the stupid pile.

He's pretty much right about the targets. The only "other than white" targets I've ever seen are the military targets featuring Osama, generic "brown people from the Middle East" (who are typically from Michigan and/or actual most wanted folks in Iraq/Afghanistan) and black zombies. All the "bad guy" targets with a dude holding a knife to the woman's throat or '50s guy (with the greased back hair) pointing the gun are all white guys.
