Thankfully me and edi have sent in his AOS paperwork. unfortunatly when we got the reciept the other day they spelt his name so wrong i cant help but tell him it is his new given american name

his name is Eduard IONESCU

USCIS spelt it EduardO IQUESCU

not only was there misspelling, but they completely left out an entire letter of his name

oh my, even when we called to have it corrected, the csr we got laughed about it

i just wonder

That is going to be a hell of a problem to fix it probably. I hope you get it corrected.

On my NOA1 for the 485 and EAD they spelled my last name incorrectly. Instead of a T a L. Which is weird, since we filled out the forms using Acrobat, so the forms were printed and there was no question about handwriting. Anyway, officers during Infopass told me everything was fine after several inquiries (their hotline, letters, Infopass).

We will see, since they approved my EAD (yeah!), I will soon find out if my name is spelled correctly.

Btw, anybody any experience with that? Can you simply make an Infopass to get rid of typos on EADs and Green Cards???? Just in case...

i totally agree

i hope it wont be a prob to fix, its his name, it was on 20 papers in every area, its not my fault uscis decides to spell the way THEY WANT

I have but I catch it before I send it out. I am a C.P.A. and when I send out reports and forms to the I.R.S., Government, Wall Street, Corporate Headquarters, etc. No mistakes are allowed I double and triple check everything, if I did I would no longer work for the Fortune 100 Company I work for.

NVC isn't any better. They spelled my fiance's name wrong, even though it's spelled correctly in about 100 places on the USCIS forms and NOA2 Notice of Approval. Now NVC says since they already sent the petition to the Embassy I have to work with the Embassy to get it corrected. When I called the Embassy they said "oh, NVC is always making that kind of mistake". #######?
