Hi All VJ,

When the Police certificate need to be submit for I-130 IR1/CR1 case? I am still waiting for my wife I-130 approval. .

The beneficiary is in Karachi - Pakistan and She never lives out of the City Karachi. After marriage she is living in her husband house.

Does she need to get 2 Police certificates for each address she lived in the same city (before marriage/her Parents house AND after marriage/Currently her husband house)?

If the both residential addresses fall into the same Area then still need 2 Police certificates OR 1 certificate will be fine?

you will not need police certificate until after the i130 is approved. the guide on this site recommends getting it after the i130 approval while the file is being forwarded to the NVC that way it will be ready in time. sometimes police clearances are only valid for a certain amount of time maybe 1 month 3 months or 6 months or something. the last thing you want is to have to get it again because the one you got now expired. she will only need the one certificate since as far as i know.

One of my friend told me that when you send paperwork to NVC, you need to submit the Police certificate and NVC treat the Police Certificate as1yr valid from the date it was issued VS. the expiration on the Police certificate for 1 /3 /6 months period. If that true then I think I will get the certificate instead of waiting on it later to delay the process.

Please, correct me if I am wrong.

Respected VJ's,

My wife got her Police Certificate today for both addresses she lived since she born (before marriage and after marriage addresses).

The cert Police issued in Karachi mentioned her name after marriage not maiden name before marriage).

My lawyer asking me to get the Police Character Cert on her Maiden name (before marriage) with her previous address AND with her after marriage name with a new address ( 2 certs) as the current address period is currently over 6 months too.

I need to know if someone faced this situation OR if someone made the Police cert then what name they used for Women after marriage.

My Wife filled 2 separate forms and submitted to the Police but they issued just one certificate with her Marriage name not Maiden name along with both addresses mentioned in the Police Cert with dates she resides in it. POlice said that she don't need 2 certs. Even she asked for the cert on her Maiden name and they said that her NIC and her Passport now on her marriage name so they cannot issue on her Maiden name.

2 separate Forms she submitted to Police are as follows:

First Form with her Maiden name with previous address along with:

2 Photographs of her

Her NIC card copy

Her parents NIC cards copy

2 NIC copies of her neighbour

Her Passport Copy (Her passport is new with her Marriage name on it and she never made passport before)

Second Form with her Name after marriage with current address since she married along with:

2 Photographs of her

Her NIC copy

My (Husband) NIC copy

Her Marriage Certificate Copy

2 NIC copies of Neighbors from current address

Her Passport copy.

Really need some help sad.gif
