Obviously, there is no such service for a spouse visa. Ghana is full of scammers. To the OP, if your wife asked you for ANY money BEFORE you met in person and married then she's probably in on the scam and you need to run. If this is the first time, she's asked for money related to the visa process, then maybe only she's being scammed.

Here is my description of the most common Ghana "dating" and immigration scams.

The Ghana woman starts asking for small amounts of money before the couple has met, often only through email, before they've even spoken on the phone or webcam. Usually it's for some small family emergency or to pay for their internet use. Then, at some point, they go to the "Embassy" and speak to somebody there who can help them get a visa to come visit you. They'll need both a passport and a visa, and the "travel agency" or "agent" can help with both. In these cases, it's hard to pin down whether the woman is in on the scam or just being scammed but in my experience, they are usually in on it.

Since the OP has managed to marry (in person, really) it's pretty likely the woman is being scammed by some "agent" but I wouldn't rule out her being in on it. These scams have evolved to be more and more sophisticated and blatant. The key is the money flowing to the Ghana woman. If there IS any before meeting in person, you can be pretty certain it's a scam.

Well I thought there wasn't but my wife called me this morning and is quite adamant about this being the case :help:

I am sure there is such a website and I have no doubt it is a scam. What an easy way to get $ 2K in addition to having access to you entire bio - DOB, SSN, Address, Tax Returns etc...

IMHO you would pay $2K to have your identity stolen.

On a serious note, if you do come across such a website you may want to drop a line to the Dept of State so they investigate. it.

Yes, I'm sorry to break the news, Prince Najeem of the Nigerian royal family is really a Nigerian cartoon character who just had his Saturday morning cartoon cancelled due to lack of viewership.

Keep looking for the Nigerian path to riches through responding to a single email and your dreams will all come true some day.
