Hello everyone,

I am Ajay and my fiancé is US citizen. Our K1 process time is:-

Applied to Californian office:- March 1 2012

Got a receipt as we have received :- March 5 2012

Today 4 July 2011 - still waiting for approval notice from them.( very much nervous about it)

Please tell me is this the normal time or delaying? Also please tell me how long it takes from now( especially for indians)?

Also I have got the PCC from the regional passport office banglore. But in the documents list it says to get it from a local passport office, so regional passport office and local passport office of banglore are same? Please if anyone have gone through the K1 process from INDIA share your experience with me.

I met my fiancé in 2010 April in India.

She made 2 trips to meet me again.

We are engaged in June 2012.

Had applied for K1 in March 2012.

Now still waiting for next. Please tell us what's next And when?

Thankfully,

Ajay

Expect your approval from USCIS in coming two months :)

Some people get lucky and get approved 4-5 months. Most people go to the 6 month mark. Some people even longer. So, yes this is normal. Nothing to get worried about. This process tests your patience very well. We went 186 days before we got our NOA2 for I-129F application. It took 246 days from initial filing to our interview.

You can start reading other couples, from India, timelines and experiences. Try the India portal. If you don't know how to get there, here is a link for you. Portal for India Link

That would be a great place to get information regarding other experiences from India.

Good luck

Don't be sad, be happy that you are approaching the time when you should see your approval. Fingers crossed.

Yeah I think so.....

I am also wondering how long it takes to get visa from now? Also I am not cleared about the police clearance certificate of banglore regional and local difference...

I don't know for India about police clearances. In Philippines, where my fiancé is from, we had to get one police clearance from what they call NBI. That's the same thing as our FBI. So it's one 'national' police clearance. But I don't know anything about India. The info you will get from the embassy there will explain everything you need to get.

Once you get NOA2, it should take a couple of more months to get the visa probably.

Ajay J, you are welcome. Visa Journey has a lot of excellent information. Regarding police certificates, every country's consulate has different criteria. You can use the portal I referred you to and start finding out the information you will need. It is better to be well prepared ahead of time rather than waiting until it is time to send it. We practiced filling out forms, looked at all of the vaccination requirements, worked on the police certificates (Brazil required a federal and every city that she had lived in since she was 16, thank goodness it was only 2), we had our package put together well in advance of our interview. When the time came, all we had to do was sign and date it. It also helped us to pass the time by doing things we could control.

Good luck with your journey!!!! I am glad that I was able to ease your worries and point you towards India's Portal.
