Anyone who filed in February??

Hi everyone!

My fiance and I received our NOA1 on February 17th from CSC. Although it hasn't been 5 months yet, the USCIS cannot tell us how much longer it will be until we hit that 5 month mark. What steps do we need to take after 5 months?

Frankly, the wait has been killing us and our relationship has taken a turn for the worse as we argue about paperwork all the time. Any of you out there who have filed in February and are still waiting for approval or have already been approved?

My fiance is in Chicago and we haven't seen each other since December 14th of last year. :'( Sometimes I wonder if the people at USCIS care at all about the couples having to spend so much time away from each other.

Does anyone have an idea how much longer it may take?

We applied in early Feb as well. USCIS recieved our application on the 9th of Feb and we got the NOA1 by email on 14th. Being realistic, I don't see them meeting the 5 month goal but I am certainly not losing hope. It is always possible although USCIS does not care about making people wait. They don't have to care. As far as the arguments are concerned, I don't see the point of fighting over something that is not in your hands. If things are getting worse over this small delay that no one can do anything about, just imagine what it would be like when dealing with bigger issues in the future. More patience is needed after NOA2 and even more so after the visa. I guess this is a good test! Keep your fingers crossed like us. The approval will come soon. I know how frustrating this wait can be. Goodluck!

Hey! I am from chicago too and my date is feb 24 noa1 from CSC... I am hoping we get our NOA 2 by the end of the week or next week by the latest because judging by all the approvals CSC's been giving out we should be right there on someones desk dont worry you have to start gathering the other paperwork that you need to go to the next stage of your journey

I looked and because the next stage (NVC) is backlogged to 22 days. It will take 2-3 months before my fiance gets her interview date so that will be toughest wait yet :bonk:

good luck on your Journey!

California Service Center seems to be faster than Vermont so no need to worry. My NOA1 was early January 2012 Only after almost end of June (past the 5 months) when I filed for service request did USCIS send me a RFE  ! Had I not filed for service request I would still be in limbo. My EAC number still not found until I got the RFE. Wish you have a better luck than I do.
