That is a stock answer. USCIS also says it can take 60 days to be issued an NOA1 - did it take 60 days to get her NOA1 at USCIS?

Keep calling, I'd call every other day (although I called twice a day waiting for our case number)

good luck

After I posted I started reading around and saw it really is taking a few weeks to get a case number from NVC. Blurg :(. I'd just keep checking and hopefully you can start with this next stage soon.

This process does feel more complicated  than any of the other ones we have done as well, from K1 all the way to N400.

the good news is that they get the ball rolling from here on a heck of a lot faster than compared to the uscis part of the process. make sure you have the money sitting aside. get registered on email updates if you havn't already. hecka faster than the mail! and you could have the application filled out and waiting. make sure you have all of the civil documents ready this part is time consuming for me cuz i had to wait til jamaica expressed them to me. I cant remember when uscis approved me but it took over 2 weeks for nvc to get things going. then it's fast. you need to work on the affadavit of support in the meantime, so it's ready to send off, the application for immigrant visa and registration, and civil documents, not to mention make sure that money is laying around ready. good luck

i feel like it is taking to long for you to get an apt. if you are calling to check if things are alright i would resort to emailing the embassy and nvc to ensure there is no problems. you still don't have an apt. it took me barley two weeks after i got in the system to get an apt date in kingston jamaica. well an apt for my step kids.
