Whenever I check my i129f status, I show Initial Review. It has been the same since I received NOA1. Some here appear to show a touch date and I am not able to see such date on mine. This is what I see: Also at the bottom it says expires 06/30/2012 which has past. What does this mean?

Initial Review

On February 3, 2012, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

Dear tech

Same thing for me, looks like they are slowing things down a little bit. Mine was received on February 1st and it has the same status as yours so far.

Let's be faithful and enjoy the waiting. God's time is perfect. We just need some patience

Regards,

Roniel & Ashley

You need to create an account to see the touch date. Then when you check the status of the case number, you can log into the account and it will show the last touch.

The date you quoted at bottom is just an administrative date for the website, As far as touch its a sometimey thing. Your file may be touched and no update is down. I had many touched because I had called and my status was never updated. And a touch means not a whole lot. A touch can be someone moving your case from one pile to another one box to another it doesn't mean its being worked on (adjudicated) all the time. The only time my date changed was when I got my NOA2 text and email.

Putting your case number in the Case status will just show you what phase your petition is in. If you register your case (You have to create account and all that) that's where on bottom you will see last update date. Like I said it usually doesn't change for most but boy did I check it daily.whistling.gif

Where does it shows that it's been touch ????

When you've set up an account, you log in and look at "My Portfolio". The last touch is actually the last updated column. My wife's AOS has been sitting at 4/30/2012 since that date. Who knows what they did back then, since it was transfered at the end of November and nothing has happened with it since. Moved from one ignored box to another ignored box apparently.

We applied for K1 on Jan 31, 2012 and received receipt on Feb 07, 2012... when i registered to check the case status, it shows that it was last updated on Feb 11, 2012. It's nearly 5 months and 4 days and i have not received any notifications. When i called NVC yesterday, they said that they have not received the case from USCIS. :crying: I dont know how many more months should i wait,,, but all the websites says that the VSC process completes in 5 months. My mind was set that i'll receive it in 5 months,, but now wen i see the last updated date am totally depressed

Our petition was "touched" once, one month after NOA1. It was of no consequence, and I am not sure if there is any significance at all to "touching." Our petition still took 147 days to NOA2.

Good luck on your visa journey.

YMMV

Lets clear this up. Why would you be calling NVC about your case when you haven't been approved? Once you get your notice of approval than they send your case off to NVC. That 5 months isn't a guarantee its their goal. If after your 5 months you can call USCIS and put in a service request even though at 5 months you are still within their processing times. Usually not until its been 6 months do they start maybe checking and seeing what is happening. Sorry

And stop looking at that last update in the majority of cases that date doesn't change until you are approved, Just because the date didn't change doesn't mean anything good or bad.

Touch, handle, look at, move from desk to desk, E mails, update, internal process, 5 months’ time frame, nothing maters, you will never know what stage you proses is, not even USICS knows, the only time you will know is when you get NOA-2

Before signing this forum i was not clear about the process,, we thought tat it would have approved and moved to NVC.. two of his friends got it in 5 months,, so we kept hoping for the same...only after reading several posts i came to know that the timeframe varies.. hoping to get it soon.

You don't have to worry yourself much, Mine took 5months before it changed from the Initial Review, and the day the status changed, it jumped the whole processes to "Approved"..

According to my experience and few i read here during my process time, sometimes the status does not change on-line

Satu Love
