POE Detroit - David is home!!

David's entry was very straightforward on Monday. Seemed as though his was the only international flight that happened to arrive at that time, as there were no real delays during customs or immigration. At immigration, David presented his visa and handed over the Consulate packet. The IO asked how long we'd known each other before he opened the packet. Once the packet was opened, he looked at some of the details and asked David to wait while he consulted with a colleague. He seemed to get the answer he needed and came back tell David, "You have 90 days, don't forget." David said, "I know", and the officer said, "Congratulations."

Since it took David almost 2 hours to clear customs and immigration last time, I planned my arrival at Detroit so that I was there only 45 minutes after his flight arrival time. He was, however, waiting with coffee in hand when I entered the international arrivals area. Took him only about 30 minutes to clear this time.

And now we have no more 'good byes' ahead of us, which is still taking a bit to get used to....

Thanks, everyone, for your support and congratulations! SSN is our next official task, which will be in about 2 weeks. Until then, we will be wrapping up wedding plans. Going for our marriage license today!!

I probably won't be logging on much over the next few weeks.... :blush:

Oh So glad to hear his home..!Congratz and wish you guys all the best to share together,its not the same thing that your NOT in VJ for awhile but Im happy to know that David is the reason why,lol!
