When Do I need a copy of a Passport?

My wife's I-130 has just been approved. She is still in process of obtaining her Indian Passport. When will I need copy of her Passport? Do I have to send a copy of her passport along DS-230? More experienced VJ members could help me here. Thank you in advance.

yes, your wife needs to send a photocopy of her Indian passport with biographic page as well as last 2 pages (where she will have her other biographic information printed). She will need to send this in her IV package including DS-230 form. Same needs to be submitted at VFS before interview.

My wife had to apply for her passport with middle name change after we got married. She did at local Passport Office in Ahmedabad and got the passport in hand in less than 3 weeks including police verification done. Different city and states in India have different passport processing delays and difficulties. Sadly there's no standard processing time frame common for the whole country.
