so is there any other way to get travel authorization than the ap (maybe a stamp or or emergency travel doc)? long story short we are on month 8 waiting for our gc, and we sent in ap 2 mths ago thought it was approved but found out today its not, and need to go back to his country to pick up daughter before school starts. Please no lectures on what we should have done But im grateful in advance for positive forward moving thoughts and advice. thanks in advance.

I don't think there Is any way he can go without the AP, but can his daughter travel alone with just a flight attendant ? And her mom signs the permission while in DR and your husband does it here at the Dominican embassy So they can send it to the general immigration office in DR? Not sure if this is something you guys have the time for since you want her here to start the school year. Good luck with everything

You could try an Infopass appointment. No guarantees as these tend to be more for serious emergencies such as visiting a sick family member but it may work. Be sure to bring proof of why your travel is essential.

AP is the only choice. There is no other travel authorization.

Go to the nearest USCIS office and request emergency AP.

If he leaves without AP, then he cannot return to the US and his AOS will be deemed abandoned.
