I need urgent help please, I want to send this off as soon as possible. I've been researching for hours and have only gotten frustrated from not really finding an answer.

1) For Montreal, DS-156K form asks for attachments, do I send these with packet three? I'm under the impression that these are to be brought to the interview only. Link http://www.state.gov...ation/82063.pdf

2) On the interview checklist here http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/packet3-k1-mtl.pdf it asks for Courier Service Reference ID Number. Am I supposed to register here http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_courier_information under "IV Applicant Who Need to Register for Loomis services"? I'm really confused if I need the number now for Packet 3 or just for the interview. If I do this, do I print out the confirmation to be taken to the interview as well?

Questions beyond Packet 3:

Interview checklist states that I need

  • Copy of the U.S. petitioner status in the USA.

  • Copies of documents proving petitioner's U.S. domicile.

These are for K-1 Visa applicants right? What exactly would suffice as proof for both?

1. You DO NOT send attachments with the DS 156K. You bring those to the interview along with photocopies of them.

2. "You may send the documents to the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal using courier services that are offered at no extra cost for the applicant. Please visit http://usvisa-info.c...ier_information and follow instructions for “IV Applicant Needing to Register for DHL” and “Sending Document to the Consular Section”. If you have any further inquiries about the courier services, please visit http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_service_options." You get the reference number when you register. You do not have to send packet 3 visa DHL/Loomis but you do have to be registered before the interview so Montreal can mail your passport back.

3. You do not have to prove your petitioner's status unless they are only a permanent resident of the US and not a citizen. Evidence of domicile is only required if the USC (US citizen) does not currently reside in the US. For example it's common that many americans live with their canadian spouses in canada; in this case evidence of domicile is required.
