Congratulations, Pathan!!!

Hi mamaSue, I am following your case, because I am processing my N400, in the Atlanta's office. I have noticed that your case has taken six months, I guess my case too. I know that you will be succesful in your citizenship journey. I'll be waiting to read your experience.

Good luck!

Blessings for everyone!

Dalia my interview is early tomorrow morning.....Today I'm trying hard to drum the questions into my brain that I still stumble on!!!:bonk:

I just hope my interviewer asks me the questions I don't stumble on!

Yes, it's taken longer than I expected... but hopefully the end is in sight.....Atlanta definitely is a slower office.

Best of luck in your citizenship! :)

Good luck tomorrow, MamaSue! I'm sure you'll do just fine. I totally get the nervousness - I breezed through but I could only remember 3 of the questions I was asked, after the fact.

We work ourselves into a tizzy for nothing.

I have my oath on Friday :) I'm more worried now about getting there for 8 AM in Atlanta traffic!

Thank you everybody for the well wishes.

Hotshot: I am sure you must be upto your neck, especially today onwards. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything about my Oath.

coloso: Ofcourse I remembered the June Thread, and especially you. The reason I did not post my experience there was that it would

have been taken as a repeated post. And I knew whenever you come by, you'll check the July thread :) How have you been and what are

you upto? Registered for the Spring session?

Hey PathaN, Yes I am registered but I am Lacking courage and energies to get this final semester done.... I hope I can get through this the same as you....

God Bless always and I want to say I am very happy you almost done the same as are brother Grassy.... :)

Hey MamaSue good luck for tomorrow we deserve all this.... What a journey.

grassy, if I get through OK tomorrow, I'm going to try begging and groveling to see if I can have my oath the same day as you....that'd give me a week to get a passport.

We have to be there at 7am tomorrow....I need to get some sleep, but I'm too nervous to get to sleep early!

Heyyyy.....it's 9am and I'm back home, after my interview followed by a celebratory Waffle House breakfast!!

We arrived at 6.40 am for my 7.15 appointment....I was given ticket number 1....first interview of the day.

Had a quick potty break, and the interviewer was already waiting for me at the top of the elevator. His name was Mr Lawyer, and he was very nice, very friendly, and very professional.... he put me at ease very quickly. As my maiden name is a Hungarian name, he commented that one of his good friends was Hungarian....

It was more like a friendly conversation than an interview and test....he asked me stuff like "tell me, when did you last pretend to be a US citizen, to seek employment"....

And...".When was your last arrest?" rather than the "Did you ever" stuff I was expecting.

He ran through the basic package, checking birth certificate, passport, Green card and driving licence.....

Then, again in a very relaxed conversational way, he asked me the 6 questions.....It's hard to remember them, Grasshopper you were right!

I think they were....

If the president and Vice president can no longer serve, who will take charge?

What is an amendment?

How many amendments does the constitution have?

What did the Declaration of Independence do??

Name one branch of the government

How many US senators are there??

I'm pretty sure that was all the questions.

He then congratulated me, and said I've filled all the requirements for citizenship.....put the "Approved" red stamp on my papers, and said he'd me recommending me for approval. We discussed the oath ceremony, I asked if there was any chance for the next couple of days as I was going away.....He said no... all the places had been filled, and we were looking at the second week in February.

I told him we'd be away until the 5th of March, and he said he'd make a note not to schedule me until at least the 6th.

We were out of the building by 7.10.....5 minutes before my interview time.

Whew.....I'm very happy it's all over, and I can relax until the end of our vacation. :)

Grasshoppr.....I hope you have a great day tomorrow... let us know how it went!!

Can somebody please update me on the list?? I'm scared I'll mess it up!! :(

YAY!!!!! See, I told you you'd be fine (I know... everybody told me that too and I was a wreck!) Your questions sound familiar - I think I was asked some of those. I totally went blank after the interview was done, despite my desperately wanting to remember which ones I was asked. I remember the first one because I thought I got it wrong (I didn't get it wrong)... but that rattled me so the rest just flew out of my head as soon as I'd answered them correctly.

Probably can't update til you get an oath date since there's nothing "new" to add.

Bummer you couldn't get a speedy oath, but at least that will work as far as passport and all that other fun stuff - that can wait til you return instead of frantically trying to get it done before you leave.

I'm worried about the weather tomorrow. Maybe freezing rain overnight or early tomorrow morning, and my oath is at 8 AM. Watching the news now, and they are calling for the freezing rain right about the time we'll be heading out. My better half is coming with me.

It took me over an hour and a half to get there for the interview, that was later in the morning (and in horrific rain, but it was just normal rain, not freezing rain). Something about weather and my going to USCIS...sheesh!

You're in the home stretch! Now you can take your trip and *relax*... the tricky part is over!!! So happy for you!

Grassy the traffic going into Atlanta was horrendous this morning as we were coming back.... and you're right, the weather's going to be pretty horrible.....is there any chance you can go tonight and book into a hotel? It saves driving in the cold dark freezing weather!

I'm sure you'll be there on time.....drive carefully and enjoy your day!!!

Nope, not a practical option for us. Have pets to tend to, we work til 8 PM... Even my employee who might have been able to help us out, is out of town right now.

The forecast keeps changing, looks like the yuck might hold off til a bit later, and they are saying it might not be much rain, and *if* it freezes...

Last time they called for a few flakes of snow, inciting panicked purchasing of bread and milk, nothing happened. Hoping for much ado about nothing again!

On my forecast, it looks like it's just going to be cold with a 60% chance of light rain....you should be fine!!

Thanks, Dalia...I agree, Mr Lawyer, my interviewer was very nice and very professional.....I hope you get him when you go.

I feel very relieved it's all over.... a bit disappointed that I couldn't get an instant oath to get a passport before we go away next week....but at least I'll hopefully be good in March... and I won't have to pay for the expedited passport fee. It's all good!!! :)

I hope you get your interview letter soon.
