So, today was my interview!!!!! interview was scheduled at 9:30am and I arrived in the building(Long Island City, NY) at 8:20am. Reluctantly, I stepped in line and after passing through search and detector door, I had my letter stamped at the reception desk. Was told to go to the second floor and drop the letter in the window. There were alot of people sitting in the room ahead of me. Exactly at 9:30am a lady came through one of the doors and called my name. She took me to her office and after swearing me in, she asked me to take a seat. Fellows, She was the sweetest lady, with the kindest face I had ever seen. Soft spoken and the moment I took a seat she started asking questions from my application. I mentioned that received a yellow letter asking to show some additional documents, but she said, they already had those documents on file. She went through the list of questions where I had to answer No in a sequence and then yes to some of them. Then the lady said, she was going to ask me questions related to the test.

1) Name of the National Anthem

2) What happened on Sept. 11, 2001

3) Why do we have 13 stripes on the flag.

4) What ocean is on the east coast.

5) How old do you have to be to vote.

6) ......( I think i was only asked 5).....

Read: Why do people come to the United States?

Write: People want to vote.

Then she asked if I had anything to show our ongoing marriage during the last few months. I gave her utility bills, Bank A/C statements and she handed me a document stating that I was approved. She asked me if I could come next week for the Oath, which I with a heavy heart declined as I had my final exam scheduled around the week. So, she said that I should expect an Oath letter in my mail soon. She saw me out by 9:45am. I wish every applicant encounters an IO like her.

With that, I thank VJ and all my friends who have helped me come to the last step of the door that leads to every members dream.

just want to update myself here, I took the oath on Monday (Jan 14) and everything went smoothly, got some traffic tickets but it wasn't a problem. Thank you everyone for your good advices and experience sharings all along my journey. I wish everyone who's still waiting a good luck, be patient and trust me, it's worth it
