I received my interview letter in the mail today. Since USCIS opened up a new office in Long Island City, my interview is being held there instead of Holtsville, Long Island. Updating Interview Date.

For me, I am still waiting for anything from USCIS after the interview. It has been 8 weeks now since then, and I have not heard anything as yet. Not even after the service request was created for the case. They are supposed to reply back by Dec 15th, so I will try to exercise some more patience - but at the moment, to tell the truth, I do not have any high hopes for that date either.

What is surprising though is that up until last week Philadelphia was showing the processing times for N400 applications as current, whereas just today I noticed that they are now showing May 2012 - where did this backlog come from? I believe, these dates relate to processing of interviews, doesn't it? I have already cleared my interview and just waiting for the oath letter to show up. This "waiting game" is now getting worst day by day... :-/

I had my interview September 25th and also still waiting too. i tried to get a service request three times after the 60 day mark when I was told by the "lovely" customer service people that I couldn't do that until it had been 5 months since I filed. So last week I hit the 5 month mark and the rep I had on the phone this time put through a service request for me so fingers crossed I hear something by December 20th. It is extremely frustrating waiting all this time.

Ah, good God - I am not the lone sufferer out there!

well, it certainly makes it difficult to understand given the fact the Mrs alterego got interviewed the same day as me and she got her oath letter and got sworn in after about 10 days of the interview. The norm at Philadelphia office is to hand over the oath letter at the end of the successful interview session. All of this just adds to the frustration.

I have spoken to the USCIS customer service and they have confirmed more than once that my case has been adjudicated as approved (and no more approvals/reviews are pending) as of Oct 17th - the date of my interview. Except for once, when the rep said that nothing has been done on my file so far. I dont know who to believe. The last time (it was Nov 29th) when I spoke to the rep he opened up an SR for me, and told me to expect a written response (hopefully, the oath letter) by Dec 15th. So far nothing is there - and the week is slowly and surely coming to its end - hopefully to a good end.

We contacted two Senstors in our area , the response they received from USCIS was basically to wait . Two months of waiting for my oath , going to third month .

Did you get N-652 with recommendation for approval, or otherwise? If you were recommended for approval then keep on talking to tier 2 rep and see if you can talk them into opening up an SR for you - given that we are almost at 5 months mark (from the date of filing of our case). Remind them that you were recommended for approval. Explicitly asked whether the supervisor review has been completed or not.

In my case, even though my wait time had not been 90 days, nor the 5 months mark had past, but surprisingly the rep voluntarily opened the SR for me - since all he could see was that the case had been adjudicated approved as of the date of my interview. I am hoping that by Dec 15th (the lapse of 2 weeks of SR period) I will get something positive out of it.

Btw, the response from my senator's office was to wait and expect an oath letter by Jan 1st. Not sure, how did they come up with that date!

Also, did they take your Green Card at the interview ?

We both were handed over N-652 at the conclusion of the interview with "recommended for approval" selected. They do not keep Green Card or any other travel document with them at interview, rather such documents are kept at oath ceremony. My interviewing officer confirmed that I should be getting the oath letter in about 2 weeks time since Philly has multiple administrative oath ceremonies twice a week (on Mondays and Fridays). After about 3 days, my wife's case got scheduled for oath whereas mine is still stuck at "Interview and Testing" status.

What is even more mind boggling is the fact that now Philly's processing time shows May 2012 cases being processed for N-400. This does not make much sense - but I can only think of this as a cause of delays in my case.

Yes, my application was recommended for an approval.. Is your DO doing judicial oath ceremonies ?

Sorry that you are stuck. I think I read that you did go to your Senator. If you do not get satifaction (the Senator's office should have picked up the torch for you) write a polite letter to the White House. I think you can do that online. It sounds like you really have gotten the bum's rush . Good luck to you !
