alterego, as I know, 60 days is a normal between interview and the Oath. If you check online and it doesn't say you denied, you are okay, just wait. Were you interviewed by the same officer?

No, we were interviewed by different officers

Interesting enough, the officer who interviewed my wife was quite thorough. He even checked her passport for exit/entry stamps for the travels listed on the application. While the officer who interviewed me, did not even care to see my green card or driver's license. And now I am thinking that maybe because he did not verify any such details for me therefore it is taking longer time on my case to get to the next step.

I guess those officers have a different style of doing their job. And, your officer can have lower range and needs somebody's approval before your case will move forward, so yours and your wife's cases go different ways. I don't think you should worry, just keep an eye online and call them from time to time (not every day, let's say weekly). You will be all right.

Well, earlier today I was able to convince the first line of support to transfer me to level 2. The officer took my A#, verified my information, and then told me that all the approvals/reviews are done on my case and is now just pending to be scheduled for oath. That got me so excited that I forgot to ask her the reason why my online status was still showing "Testing and Interview"...only after I got off the call I realized it. and now I am thinking that, maybe the officer did not look into the details at all and just told me all this to end the call...I know, I may sound way too pessimistic, but when it comes to USCIS I guess that is the way to go...

My husband's interview was yesterdat at 3:00 and he was home by 4:00. The officer was training another woman and they went through the forms, asked to see his green card and his passport. He said the questions were easy and he answered all correct. He was recommended for approval and when he asked why he wasn't told about the oath ceremony she said his file was huge and it would take her a few days to get through it. She says his oath ceremony will be after the first of the year

And, she asked a lot of questions about his immigration history but it wasn't a problem.

I had an interview November 1, and it is same as yours online, Testing and interview Just wait :innocent:

I was hesitant to mention this at first but it's all in our timeline so it's not a problem. My husband was removed from the US in 2007 after a denied asylum claim so citzenship is a major victory for us. He left to Algeria when our son was three and came home a week before his sixth birthday. Needless to say, yesterday was an extremely emotional day for me. I will cry tears of joy on his oath day.

Just a little question how do you know if a USCIS office offers same day oath? Does the office in Louisville, Kentucky offers that? Thanks. I was asking just out of curiosity.

Hey there No , Louisville KY doesn't do same day oath . KY divided by two districts ( eastern and western ) and every applicant has to go through judicial oath ceremony . I had my interview on October 12, was recommended for approval but didn't hear anything from USCIS since . I called Louisville court to find out when is next naturalization ceremony will be , they said it will be on December 7 th . But USCIS online status hasn't change and I highly doubt I'm on that Dec 7th list . When was your interview ?

Coincidentally, my journey took exactly 4 months to the date - I fedex'd my N400 on July 14.

The venue for my ceremony was at the Women in Military Service For America Memorial at Arlington Cemetery. As expected, the ceremony was decidedly military/veterans' themed. It was a very nice and touching and intimate ceremony. There were about 78 of us from 43 different countries in that small auditorium. The proceedings were officiated by the Director and Assistant Director for the Field Office, Washington DC.

I believe the actual programme mirrored most others' - sign in, surrender GC, receive packet with seat number, opening remarks, videos, Oath of Allegiance, National Anthem singing etc. But what I think was different (according to a friend) was we get to go up on stage individually and also mid-way through the ceremony, the Director called upon a Marines helicopter pilot to say a few words on what it means to be naturalized that day and such (there were about a dozen uniformed men and women in attendance, sitting in the front row). As mentioned, the theme of the ceremony, timing and most of all the venue added a rather emotionally-stirring significance to my being there that day not to be forgotten and I counted myself extra-blessed. As shared before, I was kinda bummed I didn't get a same day oath at my interview end-September as I wanted to vote in the Presidential election but in retrospect, I'm glad things worked out the way it did. Lots of great memories.

No passport applications taken at the ceremony but volunteers from the memorial were at hand to take in voters' registration forms. No big deal, I went yesterday morning to the USPS to apply for my Passport book and card. I never saw the value of the passport card but the Director explained the virtues of the Passport Card and I was sold (it only costs $30 more so why not). She explained, the Card could be indispensable during travelling as a backup form of identification. Also she warned that replacement Naturalization Certs cost close to $600 so take absolute great care of your certs, guys.

My ceremony was today and everything feels surreal. Can't believe that the journey is over. B-)
