Congratulation Brucer20099 you made it, its great for one of us to finish , which gives us a big relief that we all are soon going to reach the finish line , God Bless and enjoy....:)

Thanks. I will say the lady who took my interview was nice to offer me to take the Oath same day. She asked me if I wanted to take the Oath same day or come different. Whoever get this change should take it. But I do not got the chance to attend the ceremony. I just had to spend 20 minutes to take the Oath. Good for me. They actually asked the group if anybody here wanted to attend the ceremony in different and not want to take Oath today. NOBODY wanted to attend the ceremony. They were actually glad as they had to take the Oath only. :)

Congrats, Brucer! I take it you meant "November" yes?

When did you file? You're lucky to have got through Atlanta quickly if you filed in July! :)

Thanks Grashoppr.Yes I filed July 22nd, did the bio in August 8th, was in line in September 13th and had the Interview/Oath on November 8th.

You are right it seems like my case went smoothly and pretty quick.

Just wanted to drop by to say that my husband hasn't heard anything since his interview. His interview was on October 10th, and the IO said that he needed to check over the papers before he made a decision. He didn't have "recommended for approval" checked on the paper. I have no idea what to do at this juncture, since it's been a month since the interview. There has been no update on the online status. :-(

So sorry to hear that, I think you should schedule an infopass to enquire whats going on, regardless of how many days went past. It is just my opinion.

Yep you're one of the lucky ones. I filed 6/29, bio 7/26 (was supposed to be Aug. 8, I went early) in line since 7/30 and still waiting :-/

I will say check your status online and request inquiry online. Calling office never helped me. When you do online inquiry, they send you a letter in couple days with current status detail.

I'm not outside of normal processing time so I can't open an e-request. I did do an Infopass on Oct. 31st. Long story short - I have to travel out of the country and my GC is nearing expiration on 1/3/13 and my driver's license along with it. They stamped my passport so I'm good for now. I was told then that they're seeing May filers mostly now so I figure by the end of Nov. or early Dec. I should have my IL. Based on others' postings and their recent status updates, people who filed 3-4 weeks before me have just received their letters.

I'm good - I can wait for now. Since I have to travel next week on a family matter, I'm sort of glad I don't have IL in hand. Even if it comes while I'm gone, I'll be back well before the interview, since they sent the letter about 4 weeks prior to the actual date. So I'm content.

klsun - you might get a more specific answer if you disclose what your district office is, because the answer varies.

In Atlanta, where I am, it seems that if one has an early morning interview, there's a good chance of same-day oath (unless one is doing a name-change - that requires a judicial oath, and those happen less frequently). I've also been told that if one has come more than 4 hours' drive, they usually get a same-day oath as well - a couple of people I've met on the forums, had a long drive for an early morning interview and did get their oath same day. I also know one who was fairly local to the DO - but also had an early AM interview and was done and sworn in that afternoon.

Otherwise, for Atlanta, most people seem to get their oath within a few days to a week after their interview, if there are no complications with their case. If they don't get a decision right away or if they need a judicial oath, it can take a while though - and that varies.

Hope this is helpful :)

Just a little question how do you know if a USCIS office offers same day oath? Does the office in Louisville, Kentucky offers that? Thanks. I was asking just out of curiosity.

I think you should get a lawyer , since the case is complicated. That would be your best bet. Good luck

Today, it will be 4 weeks since my interview and without any update after that.

Just to recap, both me and my wife had interviews in Philly on Oct 17th. Both got "recommended for approval" letter. My wife got sworn in on Nov 2nd and my case is probably in no man's land (or desk)!

The phone calls to 800 number does not do anything. Every time I ask the rep to transfer me to level 2 officer, they refuse the request. All they are saying is that I should wait. No one has even confirmed whether my case has gone past the supervisor review or is that still pending. I feel envy to some of you guys who are lucky enough to be helped out by level 2 officer.

I am now thinking about writing to congressman for inquiry. What would I need to provide to congressman's office in order to inquire my case status (and possible cause of delay)?

alterego, as I know, 60 days is a normal between interview and the Oath. If you check online and it doesn't say you denied, you are okay, just wait. Were you interviewed by the same officer?
