As my naturalization is marriage based, will my US spouse have to accompany me for the interview or can I go alone. The reason I am asking is because usually the interviews are conducted early in the morning and I don't want to disturb my kids from their sleep and if its unnecessary, I would rather go alone than take the whole cavalry with me.

You can go alone. You might want to check to see if your office does same day oaths, though - your wife may want to be there for that, if that's the case!

What to do, what to do????? Package sent 7/3, they received on 7/6, then last week hubby realized he forgot to take the check out of his checkbook and put in the package, called USCIS they said that the entire package would be returned to us. Here is it 10 days after they received it and still don't have it back, should we just send in a duplicate? Or would that screw things up?

Yaay!! just recieved an update saying my biometrics letter has been mailed today.

Hopefully it'll come in the next day or two.

What to do, what to do????? I would suggest that you wait until you receive the returned package. Good luck!

i was compiling my papers and i was thinking weather i did it right , part 8 (G) it say how many times has you wife been married will i say one because she is married once or i will put 0 for previous. let me know...)))))

You should put 1 if your wife only marries to you (no previous marriage).

N400 packet fedex'd to Lewisville, TX on 07/14, received Monday 7/16 morning. No notice of receipt yet or anything.

Reading some of the earlier posts, I realize I've just sent the basic minimum - cashier's check, photos, copies of GC. I didn't send in certified tax returns, plane tickets, marriage certs etc etc. You guys are getting me worried lol.

A little bit about me, I live in the DC metro area (Falls Church, VA). Married to a citizen for 11 years. Been a GC holder for 9 years. We have 1 child. I got my GC through consulate abroad (that was a breeze, process took less than 2 weeks).

Anyways, here to a smooth ride for all of us :thumbs:

As long as you sent the BASIC requirements then you are fine

Just for the sake of making sure, the basics are:

N-400 filled and signed

check or money order

Photocopies of your GC

Tow passport photos

If marriage based, then you need the above plus:

Marriage certificate (if based on marriage)

divorce decrees if applicable

evident that your spouse is a US citizen.

proves of bonafide marriage

as far as taxes, you will be asked on the interview letter to bring them

what you should look for is PETITION ACCEPTENCE ( your NOA), or the email/text notification if you filled G-1145 with your N-400 once you receive it, you are good, any other thing they need will be asked in the interview letter.

If the petition not accepted as it miss any requirement, it will be sent back to you with the reason.

no_where_man : thanks for the reassurance. I assume I'm filing based on my tenure (9yr holder of green card) and not marriage based per se, so I did not send in the marriage certs etc etc.

Yes, I did file the G-1145.

Wrt tax returns, is it imperative that it be IRS certified tax returns (through form 4506)? If yes, then I should be prepared to pay $57 x 5 years tax returns)?
