Here is my experience from San Jose DO for my interview on 9/19:

- My appointment was at 2.30 PM, which actually is the last one scheduled for that day

- I came early at 2 PM, and had to go through security, and someone checked my interview letter

- In the waiting room with lots of people (over 25), I had to drop off my letter in a box located at counter no. 1. Not sure what the second counter on the left (no. 2) was for

- Ultimately my interview was conducted at 3.15 PM, she was a very nice lady, as she actually started with the following: 'Did you wait for a long time', she probably saw me when she picked up the previous one, as she mentioned that to me thereafter

- Had to show my DL, greencard, passport, and in addition I also showed my expired passport

- She went through my file, and asked the following questions:

1. What was your last trip? I mentioned Singapore, but I forgot the last one was to visit my dad in Netherlands, as he is sick. She didnt ask any further. I already sent her copies of my passport and expired copies with all stamps of my trips of the last 5 year, and the global entry document

2. Are you married? And I said yes, and she asked follow up questions, how long we have been married, and if my partner was living at the same address. I did tell her that I am not applying based on 3 year marriage. I did include a copy of the marriage certificate and naturalization document of my partner

3. She went through all the good moral questions, and on the question whether I was citated or jailed, etc. I ticked no, but I forgot that I had a traffic ticket in NY for using cellphone. So I mentioned it to her, but she said its no big deal

4. Then she wanted me to read the following sentence: Where is the White House? and write down the answer: The White House is in Washington D.C.

5. My 6 questions were:

- Capital of California

- Who signs the bill into law

- What is the supreme law of the land

- What is an amendment

- Who did the US fight in WWII

- Who is the speaker of the House

Actually I made a mistake on question 3, I thought it was 'noone is above the law', but the IO made me correct that one, and then I said constitution.

And then basically she wrapped it up and gave me the recommendation paper for approval.

Those who are in line but not getting any response, like mamasue, pathan, I will say you guys should send inquiry online. They response with written letter and make the case faster. I got response from them within two days every time. :)

Usually they stop at 5 question. But if you do mistake one , than they ask the sixth question. :)

It's not going to make anything go faster. I made a phone inquiry after 30 days. Nobody called/contacted me back. During the 15 days in which they were supposed to get back to me, the blurb on the website status changed from 30 days to 90. 90 haven't passed yet so there isn't much point, IMO.

No, they stop at first 6 correct answers, not 5. You've got to have 6 correct answers out of 10 questions.

@RedMustang. I noticed you did early biometrics, 10 days earlier than us in Dallas. However, I see that your oath date was 2 days after us. I was wondering did you delay the interview or oath ceremony? I'm just wondering if the early biometrics has any impact on the dates.

Hi Karee. I did not delay the oath or interview. It looks like the early bio got me an earlier interview date but didnt affect the oath date.

It's not going to make anything go faster. I made a phone inquiry after 30 days. Nobody called/contacted me back. During the 15 days in which they were supposed to get back to me, the blurb on the website status changed from 30 days to 90. 90 haven't passed yet so there isn't much point, IMO.

I am in line. Filed 6/29, priority date 7/2. Did early biometrics 7/26, status changed to in line for interview 7/30. Received Yellow Letter 10/2.

Again telling you unless you make a mistake, they will ask only 5 question. when they ask sixth question that means you did one wrong.

Some say 5. Some say 6. I read on the website somewhere it's 6. One has to have 6 out of 10 correctly. They stop when you get 6 right, if you get there before 10 questions are asked.

Well, I am telling you from my personal experience. The officer had a sheet of paper in front of him with 10 questions on it. He was marking my answer as Correct, and also wrote down my response for each. He asked me 6 questions (and I got all 6 correct), then he stopped and at the bottom of the sheet marked 6 and signed that sheet.

But, don't worry about answering one more question right, this part of the interview is the easiest :)

It is 6, never heard of 5 questions only. Aside from reading here and earing from families and friends it is always 6. If you miss 1 from 6 then they'll ask you one more up to max of ten. I have a frend who have been asked untill 11 and have one friend who never asked any questions at all.
