N-400 July 2012 Filers

I will not say that I am lucky. My friend who already citizen told me that I can get citizenship within one and half month after applying. I I trusted him and filed for the N-400. It's has been three months now since I applied for. I was expecting it very fast.

Your friend had bad information - sorry Even the fastest ones I've seen take about 3 months (give or take a few days one way or the other).

I had gone to a local informational seminar in early June - they told me it was presently taking 3 months in ATL. That might have been true at that point in time, but their posted average is 5.2 months as of August 31st. National goal is 5 months and I think the national average is 5.1 months. You can check that at the USCIS website, where you check your status - scroll to the bottom of the page and there are drop-down menus that allow you to check the average of your DO (or any DO).

Even at that, there will be some whose journey moves faster, and some whose journey will move more slowly. It just is what it is. Now that we're in it, we need to just ride it out!

MamaSue... someone on Trackitt who filed 6/27 updated this morning that IL was received 10/12. Their PD is a few days before me. They got their FP notice 6 weeks after me, despite filing sooner, and their FP were done Sept. 14th, about 7 or so weeks after me. There are still several who filed earlier who haven't reported receiving IL yet... but hopefully that's a good sign. I do think another "batch" of IL have gone out, so hopefully we'll be soon!
