OK thanks. Have you heard that someone failed ? Whats gonna happened then? One more question. They ask you to bring some papers with you, basically the same stuff you already sent. Do I need to bring originals or copies?

Well, so far I have not seen a case where somebody has failed. I am sure there are applicants that fail but generally, every applicant takes the citizenship matter seriously and study as if it was a do-or-die situation. In case you fail either of the reading/writing/history test, you will be given an oppertunity to re-take that part of the test again.

In most cases, the documents that they ask for have to be brought in as originals. I would also prefer and recommend to bring all the originals rather than be put on hold and have to make a trip back home to get the originals and bring about un-necessary delays to you case. If they need to make copies, they can always make them.

i have a question i got here in september 2009 and from that till jan 2011 i dont have anything joint with my wife.we used to live in a basement apartment so no joint lease and i didnt have joint bank account too that time either.but my removing of conditions phase went ok i got approved without any RFE or interview.so now do i need joint proof for that period for my interview or not.if i do what should i do to cover that get some affidavit of people etc or something else.any suggestion would be appreciated.thanx.

Here we are discussing ONLY about the citizenship. N-400 application. Specially this thread. For N-400 you do not have to show any joint document. Good luck.

This thread is ONLY for N-400 applicants. I think you are not N-400 applicant.

PaThan I know you are a good person and trying to help. But I think you should respond only who applied for N-400. That way this thread will not be mixed up with other stuff. Just my opinion to you.

Just check what the status , what they filed for before you answer it.

That is what I said. You are trying to help people. But this thread is all about N-400 NOT for any other visa status. Some people just do not check/ask in appropriate forum. Helping somebody is certainly good but people just ask for fun.They are not serious. You are a serious person, it seems like.

Do you have tax returns (transcripts), any utility bills? If you worked, W2s should show your address.You say that you did not have anything joint till Jan 2011, but do you have anything after? Bank accounts? Lease? Any kind of insurance? How about greeting cards from friends or family? Any photos? These are only some ideas.

I am sorry but i don't think that there is anything wrong with him helping her out, infact i think there must be more people like him.....this forum is for helping each other , for these kinds of question ......so i think it eases the confusion which we have .....Peace.....hope this helps ...

and one more thing you are wrong about i am doing N-400 on 3 yrs basis ,they can ask and will ask for joint things eg. tax return and other thing, if you are doing 5yrs basis then you may not need it but for us we need the joint thing that's a fact ....
