I wonder if my local office will wake up soon.... The frustration is building up. Been almost month and a half since my Bio now.....

Note: Just checked the USCIS website as it got updated today. Since My local office(Long Island) doesn't appear on the list, I go by the New York City updates and it inched from January to February 9th. They are kidding!!!!!!!

As mentioned "scheduled for interview" does not mean that they have generated an interview date for you. You may or may not receive an interview date for months. It all depends how busy your local office is.

Well, after biometrics the online status changed to "in line for interview scheduling" followed by "interview scheduled" after about 2 weeks. They must have done something - and I presume the interview date is booked. But then, we are talking USCIS here...one should expect anything from them, including redundant status changes :-/

no i didn't have a interview date but you must realize that the on line status is not always accurate , in my area we have very very few cases , when ever i went to the local the was not a single person waiting ...so its quite quick hopefully soon....and its show it take 5months but its less....

I hope that is not the case but from my friends in ny they told me there is a delay , how long dont know....all we can do is wait but mind you that our 3 yrs is on oct 15 , let see

and best thing is that all the june filer are getting done so we well be in Que soon

Hotshot I asked here two people. One said his case was done in month and half. Other guy told me his case was done in about 8/9 months. So basically it depends on volume and how busy they are. Sometimes background checks take time. They cannot do anything without background clearance. That is what they told me when I did a online inquiry. They sent me a written letter about that online inquiry.

polar1979 - I am not on the tracking list, but I have the Exact same dates as you and filing from the Detroit Office (including update on 8/27 saying that I was placed in line on 8/9). I called USCIS yesterday, as it has been over the 30 day mark, and the response I got was that the current processing time for Detroit field office is 5 months and that I will get an interview letter sometime within the 5 month time period. The agent was not able to help me any further. Did anyone else call USCIS and got a different response?

Really? That's what they said? I was thinking about calling that number too, guess I don't have to now since they won't help at all. Hary_fary, why don't you add yourself to the list so there will be another Detroit applicant instead of me alone. I'm lonely here. Lol

Finger prints (its was send same day)

Name check ( they say that it can take 15 to 30 days)

local agencies ( they say that it can take 15 to 30 days)

then its up to the local office how much load they have .........
