Hi, I did my K3 interview in Jakarta, the interview was succeed, but the embassy can not issued the visa until I get my police certificate from Canada..... Since I lived in Canada for 18 months as foreign students. I've sent all documents needed for getting police certificate to RCMP Ottawa last week. My question...how long they actually process it?. In website it states: approxiamately 5 months!!! OMG...is it true???

All i have to do is only waiting for police certificate, i am stuck here and far away from my hubby :crying:

I've lost of my faith and my patience with this situation....

Anyone know or going the same experience please share with me....pleasee....

thanx...

RCMP is taking about 75 days to process the polics check applications.

You can also try the local police office of the city you lived in Canada. They can do a check based on the name and date of birth. Most of the local police offices are taking from few hours to a week to do these checks with a fee. They can also release the police check certifcates to some one you know if you sign a disclosure form for that person.

If I recall, you had to send in fingerprints, correct?? Been awhile but in the past, people that had to send in fingerprints (most were because they had a criminal record) did take 3-4 months for processing. I recall one that attached a very polite note asking the process to be expedited and it seemed to speed up the process. But this info is just from VJ and no actual experience. On their website it states in excess of 150 days. http://rcmp.ca/crimrec/finger_e.htm I ssume your not a Canadian citizen, but maybe contact the Candian Emabssy in your country and see if they can do anything, all they can do is say no!! Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
